Pritchard Orthodontics is the best! They are knowledgeable and gentle and always take the time to explain to the patient what they are doing before they start. We have had good experiences with all three of my children here.

Lovely staff, very patient and professional. I got my Invisalign done here and Dr. Pritchard was very receptive of any adjustments that I wanted to make to my teeth after completing the first set of retainers.

Dr. Pritchard and the his staff are just wonderful. Except for one receptionist that was quite rude but I haven't seen her in a while so hopefully she no longer works there. The office is clean and modern. It is a convenient location since we live in Battle Ground. and easy parking. Both my sons had their braces with Dr. Pritchard and so did I! Dr. Pritchard is great at explaining what his plan is and wanting the best result for my teeth. I actually had invisalign for most of my treatment and then just braces at the end to help turn a stubborn tooth. He listened to my concerns about my bite and worked with me to make sure I was happy with my bite and my smile. He and his staff are always friendly, professional and kind. It was funny how excited and enthusiastic Dr. Pritchard was about seeing my teeth improving at each visit. You can tell he really enjoys his job. While I won't miss my braces I will miss going in to see everyone at Pritchard Orthodontics.

Questions & Answers

Are there any restrictions to what I can eat while wearing Invisalign?

No. Unlike braces, you may eat whatever you like as long as you remove the aligners before eating. Prior to placing the aligners back on, it is important to brush your teeth and the aligners after you eat.

When should my child see the orthodontist?

Most parents wonder when is the best time to have their child evaluated for braces. One common misconception regarding orthodontic treatment is to wait until all of your child’s permanent teeth (except the wisdom teeth) are present. However, an orthodontist can identify most problems involving the alignment of the teeth and jaw growth by the time a child is in the first or second grade. For this reason, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have a check up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7.

I want to straighten my teeth but I don’t want metal braces. What are the alternatives?

Austin Giglio | Jun 19, 2022
Pritchard Orthodontics | Jun 19, 2022

There are many options for patients who want to avoid metal braces! The most popular alternative orthodontic treatment is Invisalign®, which are clear plastic aligners designed to straighten teeth. After an examination of your teeth, your dentist will determine which option is best suited to your wants and need

How long do you have to wear braces?

On average, comprehensive orthodontic care to correct a malocclusion can take anywhere between 18-36 months. Orthodontic treatment for more limited problems with tooth alignment typically ranges from 6 to 18 months. It is important to keep in mind that aligning the teeth and the jaws does not happen overnight. Whether you are wearing conventional braces, clear aligners, or any other type of appliance, orthodontic movement is a gradual process. Orthodontic tooth movement is based on the use of light and continuous forces to correct your bite in an incremental, predictable, and healthy manner. The total duration of orthodontic care, not including wearing retainers to maintain the result, depends on several factors. Such things as growth, as well as compliance with care, may influence treatment time.
