Do not go past this shop without stopping! It's a new adventure every time, the offerings are so varied and vast you can't possibly see it all in a single visit. Staff are kind and there seems to always be at least a few on shift, so if you have a question you don't have to wait for the answer. Rourke is particularly knowledgeable!

I’ve been wanting to go to Handley for so long! I’m so glad I made it over there today, because this shop is by far the BEST crystal - mineral - gem shop in the Portland/Washington area! It took me 25min to get there from Washington county, OR. We spent over an hour just looking at everything and admiring everything they have! THIS IS DEFINITELY THE STORE YOU WANT TO GO TO! Prices are extremely fair! But the selection is a hobbyist dream! Today I purchased stands for my collection , which I never found in other stores … and a couple cool crystals that caught my eye! The woman that either owns or works there was extremely helpful and showed us the secret cabinet that held lots more goodies! I can’t wait to go back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to Handley Rock today and spent about two hours there. I didn’t even come close to looking at everything. The guy working with me was incredibly helpful and patient. What a great store. Amazing selection. Decent prices. Plenty of polished rocks and plenty of raw rocks to choose from. Many of the materials you can buy by weight, and then there are many, many pieces that are individually priced in cases. I could’ve spent a lot more time there. I will definitely be going back and taking my kids there as well.

Still have obsidian?
Best to call for availability. I do believe they carry used equipment as well.
They do carry gold pans, gold finding books, rock hammers and the like. Most things under $40. I wouldn't consider them a dedicated gold prospecting shop with sluice boxes and the like, but they should be able to get you started.
Randall, while they do have some beading supplies, and a large supply of beautiful stone and gemstone beads, I think you can find that black elastic at Joanns craft stores.
Yes we do. We have a great Jewelry Designer that works for us, his name is Ed. He is available M-F 10-6
Sorry for late reply. Right now we have about five pounds of soap stone in stock. each stone is about 2lbs and less
It's better to give us a call, to discuss what it is. unless you have pics. Thanks, Dave
Everyone wears masks and they enforce the occupancy limits. They are amazing.
The folks in the shop are always very friendly and knowledgeable, I would recommend going in when they're not too busy ... and maybe offering some sort of compensation for their expertise and information.
What? I've been a customer at this local, family run business for many years. This is a great shop. I've always had good service and lots of assistance here. I've bought jewelry, supplies to make jewelry and have had several items repaired. Good people doing good work at good prices.
Eds house of gems. Internet. Call it a fossil on etsy or Craigslist maybe.
No. For quality appraisals accepted by insurance companies the best in the area is Pacific Gemological Laboratory, 534 SW 3rd Avenue, 206, Portland.
