Beautiful and peaceful area in the heart of the city. PLEASE DO NOT let the homeless or the neg comments about them deter you or stereotype them. Some previous comments I read were really harsh and cruel on the less fortunate that frequent the park. I used to spend my lunch breaks there and loved it. It's right by the court house, police headquarters and JE Dunn construction who shares the parking garage next to the park with govt employees. As a SWF, I always felt comfortable and always felt safe. Homeless folks were kind and would either sleep or respectfully kept to themselves. I never once was asked for a hand out, if I had drugs or wanted drugs, or otherwise bugged by any on the homeless folks. I would always offer part of my lunch or whatever I couldn't finish to any homeless woman, child, or man. There's many uniformed officers around to keep the peace. I assume because there are quite a few displaced/homeless people there. Or to also enjoy the beautiful park. I think it's extremely kind that the officers/City allows them to be there. I've heard that shelters are the most violent, unsanitary, loud and disease filled places to be at. They don't allow them to be in the shelter between 6a-7p (depending on the shelter). So I feel some go to llus W. Davis Park to also feel safe, to sleep peacefully w/o worrying they'll be harmed, etc. Anyways, it is a very peaceful gorgeous oasis in the middle of a chaotic, busy, stressful area.

Regularly picked up and maintained, the trees are absolutely beautiful. Watch out for the man who screams at imaginary people, he mostly sticks to one side. Don't run away or look scared but don't turn your back to him or look him in the eyes. He's a regular at the park.

Lots of fun. Went to a small pride event. It unfortunately was the same weekend as Irish fest, so turnout was not the best. My kids, brother, my significant other and myself had a great time.

The park was unique because of its shallow pool and mini water falls. The grounds were well taken care of and the landscaping was gorgeous. There were some people sleeping and laying on the sidewalks. City vistas were nice for a morning coffee.
