It’s 330 now and my wife called about 30 minutes ago saying he’s all right if we show up and just go surfing for an hour, was fine paperwork and the guy said Yep you just need to have them back here by 4:50. Then another person came up after I had signed the paperwork and handed it over to them just to tell me they only do 24 hour rental, really upset since the other place that’s open later would have been better now that we wasted 20 minutes.

The Girl

It's a small shop with a varied selection of outdoor gear and clothing. Not a surfer so don't expect too much from this review. The only place in town you can buy an actual rain jacket if you didn't plan accordingly by buying one before arriving here. Expect to spend $60-100. You can get a rain poncho at the marketplace across the street but they're the cheap plastic kind. The guy running the register was only semi polite and not really friendly. This shop overall was okay but in the future would rather just hit Big 5 or some other sports gear store down in Newport.

Moment Surf Co is a solid surf store, they’ve got everything you need and more (the cute little restaurant next door), all at a fair price. Wetsuit rental is decent and at a good price (nearby surf stores have quoted me $80 which is a joke and clearly taking advantage of first timers) with a 24 hour rental period. They’ve got a good range of surfboards from lots of reputable shapers, and a nice selection of second hand boards too. Staff are always welcoming and friendly, and it’s awesome how they support/ lead community events such as the annual long board comp (a lot of fun, whether you’re competing or not) and the local surf park build.

Fantastic experience at the beach in Pacific City at Moment surf shop! I took my eight-year-old grandson there for a surf lesson. I wasn’t expecting too much success because of my own experience surfing many years ago and knowing how difficult it was. However, Deklyn, the instructor had my 8 year old grandson riding waves standing up within minutes!! He had a great experience and it was a wonderful confidence builder. I think he has a new hobby for life. Thanks to the wonderful people at Moment Surf Shop for helping create these memories. Great “moments!”
