We have now been to a couple of surf museums and this was just as good. It was crazy to see the board that Bethany Hamilton was in when she was attacked. Just shows how big of a shark it was but also how strong Bethany was to survive. Definitely recommend stopping by here.

Super cute! You can tell the staff really care about the museum. Loved the secret spot, so fun

Had a great time with some friends! We were given a great tour around the museum and the exhibits, which gave us a lot more information than what was displayed. Not that the displays were, we just got additional insights. I never knew there was so much that went into surfing. They even have the Soul Surfer surfboard! Cool gift shop as well.

California Surf Museum features surfing history, tech changes, geographical specifics. You can see how people surfed long ago, how 1940s changed the surfing concept, where we are now. I was impressed to see 4.5 lbs board and 155 lbs board almost by each other side. It is great to learn what is behind surfing culture, lifestyle and contests. The California Surf Museum has a nice shop. I wish now I left more money there.

My cousin was Robert Kooken from Huntington Beach. He surfed for Gordie. He was H.B. champion surfer in the late 60s. I was just wondering if he was in your museum?

Hi Kathie: That name doesn't sound familiar to me, but I will ask our Historian. He may be in the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum?
