Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou

It was my first time dining at Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou restaurant. The restaurant sure had a Cajun theme with a lot of decorations that made me feel like I was in NOLA. The first table we sat at wobbled really badly so we decided to sit outside next to their Koi pond. Onto the food. The bread they use for the oyster po boy was stale and cold in the center. Even though they put grill marks on it and attempted to heat it up. It was not fresh bread. The oysters were chewy and had way too much breading. The gumbo came out luke warm. The food would stay hot longer if you just heat up the cup first. The alligator bite had some sweet sauce on the side which was not a favorite and their version of Remoulade was not even close. It had a collection of weird spices. Almost like they used Tony Thatchers to give it a kick. My bayou salad was pretty good other than using unripened tomatoes in it.

Every single thing we ordered was outstanding. Each dish had an explosion of flavors in each bite. I would recommend this restaurant ten times over!!!

I found this place on Tiktok while looking for pla c es to eat in Alpharetta. The ambiance was definitely giving New Orleans vibes and was very welcoming. I got the lychee Martini which was great and the charboiled oysters which were absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the salmon dinner and my friend had the crab dip and pasta dish which were good as well. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. All in all great food selection.

Flatlands is one of our all time favorite restaurants. It’s absolutely delicious. Every plate is so flavorful. And I think the portions are very generous. I always have half of my food left. So I think that you could total share unless your just starving or once you realize how good it is you will not want to share. The staff is always super friendly. Great food and wonderful customer service.
