Very well set up and run club with spectacular views. Food is great and servers are on it. Only complaint is there stuffy dress code.

A extremely nice place, from the 34th floor you have a rare to find San Diego view. Excelent service and a very Customer focused staff.

Looks nice, but prospective members beware.... I joined the University Club in San Diego in Feb of this year, based on promises made by the membership department that were not able to be delivered. I was sold on the golf benefits, and the golf benefits turned out to be completely unavailable in reality. When trying to book, there is not one available tee time at any course listed on the Club Life app, nor when I called the support line to book. The Club Life representative actually explained to me that there is only one morning and one afternoon tee time available at each course for the entire club corp member network, which is not at all how it was sold. There was also no weekend times available. None of this was expressed to me, as you can see based on the membership outline and email exchange where I focused on how I can use my golf benefits. When I found out this was not a usable benefit, I cancelled my membership. Not only was the general manager unwilling to give me a refund on my initiation fee, he proceeded to schedule time with me to waste my time in telling me how he is unwilling to uphold sound business practices in making right on the situation, but he was oh so appreciative of me providing my time to tell him how his team is not setting good expectations, and missing clear opportunities to set proper expectations. On top of this, he said the person on the club life line who was honest with me was wrong. I, of course, know he is continuing to be exceptionally loose with the truth, and insulting me in more ways than one. This was an unbelievable waste of time, and to top it all off… I just got a bill to pay the initiation fee AGAIN, and it would be auto-charged to my credit card. The best part about this... I already paid my initiation fee, and the bill I received is for double the amount of my original initiation fee, AFTER I cancelled. This is just yet another example of what a ridiculously poorly run operation you have going at the University Club in San Diego.

Friday night packed! A friend and I found 2 seats and ordered a $85 bottle of delicious Italian wine. I love the atmosphere but the clientele was um kind of snooty. Service was slow initially getting the bottle of wine took a good 20 minutes. Once we got our bottle all ran smooth. The guy was on it, he filled our glasses as soon as we were close to done, I was amazed by how he was able to spot our almost empty glasses.

Do I get a discount for hosting a wedding

A discount on membership or initiation? I wouldn't be surprised, but would recommend making an appointment to check it out and ask. Before joining, I was curious and had a bunch of questions, and their membership staff was very helpful and but at all pushy (about a year ago). Even if you don't like the answers, at least you know and will have seen the place for yourself. If you are a member and want to have a wedding there, they offer some packages and discounts for hosting events, so you might find some good options available to you. (I have not hosted an event there yet, so I don't know specific details)

What kind of food do you have

They can make just about anything you would want for an event. When you go there and order off the menu, it American fare.
