Stay was nice….but…. I have 3 children that play travel baseball and always search for best prices on hotels. I paid up front a week prior to staying at Comfort Suites in Piedmont, SC for a discounted price. They advertise if you pay in full up front that you get a discounted price of $xx.x. Once we checked into the hotel, the random charges started. I had a $104 hold on funds even though the full price was taken out of my account the week before. Then I had random charges of $81, $83 and $142.18 charges. They sent a receipt much higher than I paid initially for my week stay. We even checked out a day early so we had already paid for a night we didn’t stay before these additional charges. The hotel will not respond to my phone calls or emails. The complaint department just refers me back to the hotel. I will never stay in a Choice Hotel again. I’ll stick with Hilton Honors.

I spent the past weekend at this hotel (due to a soccer event), and I have to say that the room was comfortable, with two queen beds with an extra area with a sofa. The breakfast wasn’t what I was expecting, but in general, it was a nice place to stay. The front desk people were friendly and willing to help and resolve any issues we faced during our stay. I recommend it.

The front desk attendant was new, not knowledgeable, and rude. He is definitely not fit for a customer service position. I was assigned to 3 rooms. Someone was already checked into the 1st room we were given. The 2nd room's door didn't lock. You could literally push the door open with no key. Also old hot wings were left in the microwave. Finally we were given a king room although I paid for a room with double beds and no compensation for the inconveniences was offered.

If I could give it a ZERO I would. We booked adjoining rooms but when we checked in at 7pm we were given rooms on separate floors and advised nothing could be done to change that despite the fact that we had called several hours ahead to confirm the reservation and advise of our arrival time. Neither room could possibly be considered clean, one if them was filthy, with old food on the floor and pubic hairs in the tub and the bed! When we called the front desk to inform of the issues we were told there were not enough housekeepers and that we could come and get sheets at the front desk and make the beds ourselves. The sheets we were given did not fit the bed. There was one towel and one washcloth in the second room, the towel has a bloodstain on it. No hope of getting replacement. We cleaned the pubic hairs out of the tub with disinfectant wipes, finally got sheets to fit the bed and made it ourselves. The front desk person was not helpful or empathic and her attitude caused an escalation at the front desk with an understandably upset family member. The front desk frame of mind was that housekeeping is not her job and she should not be held accountable for the issues. There was no manager on site, when he was reached by phone, it appeared that he disconnected the call when asked if he finds these conditions acceptable. The front desk person stated that she wished us to leave since “we could not be pleased”. I’m not clear about which part of this stay she thought we should be pleased about. She did not display any empathy about the filth, lack of customer service, or the nightmarish experience, repeatedly stating that she was just a front desk person and it was not her responsibility. This is a dirty, uncared for, poorly managed money trap. Stay away.
