We loved Owens’s. An amazing atmosphere, reasonable prices and great food. We arrived at 5:30pm Friday and had a 45 minute wait - no problem as we went to the outdoor patio and ordered cheap beer ($4) and appetizers and enjoyed some souther music. TIP- the drinks are much cheaper outside than ordering from the bar inside. We had grouper for about $30 for dinner and it was amazing. We finished off we urge Mud pie. It was pricey at $10 but good. Overall amazing atmosphere, great food and fun time.

A Sarasota must. I’m so glad we came here on our first night of vacation — this place was bumpin and did not disappoint! Don’t be discouraged by the long wait: there is such a cute outdoor patio with fresh grilled seafood and a bar menu to order from to tide you over while you enjoy the weather and listen to live music! The food (on all 3 of the menus they offer) was outstanding and fresh. The servers were all super helpful with ordering and friendly too! Enjoyed my time here start to finish and would recommend to anyone.

Simply awesome experience! When we arrived at 6pm, we’re were told there would be a 2.5 hour wait. My hopes were about dashed. The hostess, a native of my Ohio hometown, convinced us to stay, put our name in, and hang out on the back patio/courtyard. Glad we listened, what a great place to wait. There’s a small hut setup with a grille and cold beverage options, plenty of outdoor bench or picnic table seating. They also offer a limited menu of sitting at a picnic table. We had live music to entertain while we waited. The dinner was amazing, food was outstanding, service was solid! My jumbalaya was super tasty, and my ladies seafood pasta was great! Definitely give this place a try. Located in the heart of downtown Sarasota…but what a great little city.

This was my 4th time here as a local. We went to dinner around 5:15pm on a Wednesday evening. The wait was about 1.5 hours. They have a very large outdoor space to hang out and enjoy a beverage and light snack from their outdoor bar/restaurant. Once seated the food and service is top notch. Only thing I do not like is the fact that they do not accept reservations. Every time I go, there are people walking away because the wait is so long. Even going early still requires a long wait to be seated. (We were there at 5:15pm for dinner). I’m assuming they do this in hopes that you wait in their outside area and spend more money on food and drinks while you wait. Just seems like an easy way to make more money. All in all, I would still recommend because the food taste wonderful, as long as you have the time to wait for a table.

They open at 4 pm. Best bet is to get there at 4 or a few minutes before that. By 5 there is about a 30 minute wait.
New to Florida Fresh fish? That is called blackened, you can also have it grilled. Did you want it fried? 🙄 Owen's is by far the best place to eat Florida Seafood restaurant I have eaten out at in years. For this level of quality, quantity & deliciousness, I usually only find at my Moms. ❤😊🐟 Outdoor Florida raised!
Don't know for certain. But we try to get there by 5. The music starts after that. Best guess is between 5 and 6.
Yes and they are open for dinning in with practicing social distancing
There is an outside seating area that is dog friendly. We have dined there with our dog on many occasions. Check though for policy changes.
The food is amazing
Wasn't required to wear a mask neither were the people at any of the tables that were close to us. Wait person was wearing a mask. I did not get covid there...
