I've been coming to Sarasota for over 35 years and somehow had never been here before this evening. The food was completely fine, nothing to complain about, but it was also nothing to write home about. (I think I was expecting more with all of the raving reviews.) At our table, we had the Southern Comfort (great cornbread), Char-Grilled Plate, and Create Your Own Fried Baskets with grouper and shrimp (both were average). There didn't seem to be a shortage of workers which was nice to see.

Walt’s is my absolute favorite fresh seafood spot. Whether you eat in or buy from the fish counter it’s incredibly fresh. If you dine in, it’s fun to sit outside. The people watching is fun too! Every time I’ve gone the staff has been super friendly and in sync with the kitchen. It’s worth the wait if you find there is one! Pictured is fresh tripletail that I rolled in pretzels after a buttermilk bath and pan seared it. So fresh and so so good!

Every time I’m in Sarasota, I always make sure I plan a meal at Walt’s Fish Market. This time was no different and I once again had some great seafood! My wife had the seafood bouillabaisse with everything in it and wow was it good. I had the char grilled plate and it was cooked to perfection. Grouper, shrimp, scallops etc had a great flavor also. I will be back.

We were traveling down to Florida on vacation and heard about this place from a friend of North and decided to try it. Although it was very crowded we got in within 5 to 10 minutes and we're seated right away with a fantastic waiter. We had fried calamari that came in a sort of coleslaw mix that obviously was handmade and was absolutely delicious! We also had the Southern comfort meal fish and chips and fried shrimp along with hush puppies and that calamari dish and salads everything was absolutely hot fresh quick delicious and perfect waitstaff was awesome interior of the restaurant was funky and fun only issue I would say is parking is kind of a nightmare if you have a big truck like me or SUV. If you are in the Sarasota area you must try this place five stars absolutely 💞

Happy hour is 4-6, and includes draft beer, house wine and well liquor.
The employees do wear masks but most of the customers are not. The outdoor seating is tight and near the bar your in a crowd of people trying to order drinks. It's better then most other restaurants so on a scale of 1-10 I give Walt's an 8.
They don't have Salmon belly but im sure you call them and see if they can order it for you.
On 41 near Siesta Key not sure of Venice fl.
No Reservations but plenty room and the best seafood around
