Buying a home in PDX… Requires a professional, experienced realtor. Lisa is all that and more. We moved here from the Midwest last August, renting as we began our house search that fall and winter. Kinda felt like swimming upstream with the intense competition for an affordable house, until we teamed up with Lisa. Her knowledge of the process and the neighborhoods helped us focus our search amidst the lack of available housing and the crazy bidding situation early this spring. Lisa shepherded us through the listings and open houses, gaining a clear view of what our needs were - (as a retired, older couple in a new city). We ended up in a very nice neighborhood with a charming house on budget. I’d highly recommend Lisa to both buyers and sellers. Personal, professional, and knowledgeable. We are so happy to now call Portland our home! David and Ginny Vogel

Lisa was seriously the BEST realtor. She made our search for our perfect home so seemliness and personal. We started the process from afar and did a lot of our searching virtually from a totally different timezone. She was determined to help us and it truly showed with her extra efforts to go to multiple houses, factious sessions, and personal calls to discuss our best approach in offers. After we reached an acceptance in the offer in our now HOUSE, she continued to check in and help us along in making sure we had everything we needed to secure the deal. I can't say enough nice words to sum up how sweet, caring, and kind Lisa is. If you're looking for a house, she is YOUR GAL!

Questions & Answers

How does my Credit Score affect my mortgage rate?

With a high credit score (above 700ish and the exact number does fluctuate) you will probably qualify for the best rate. Credit Scores are not the only factor in qualifying for a loan. Your debt to income ratio is also a major factor in determining how much you can borrow. *Shop for mortgage rates within a 30-day period. Your score won't be "dinged" for talking to more than one lender in this window because the system understands you are shopping. Too many spread-out inquiries can lower your score.

Does staging a home really make a difference? And how much does it cost?

Homes that are staged sell faster and for more $ than those that are not. A home should be compelling, yet neutral enough for a buyer to imagine themself living there. You want many people to look at your home, and the most highly visited homes are those that look beautiful and clean in photos. (This takes effort and a bit of expertise to achieve!) More visits translate to multiple, and better offers. If you cannot stage because you are still living in the home, make decluttering and freshening up a top priority. If you can stage, the cost is based on the size of your home, how many rooms you stage, and who you choose. A rough estimate of starting point is $2000. When you see how fabulous your home looks and what it sells for, you will likely be very happy.

How much is my home worth? Can I trust what the internet says?

Sometimes the real estate apps can be pretty accurate, but there are things that computers just cannot take into account, like the overall condition of your home, your street, a kitchen remodel, new roof...The most accurate analysis will be when a professional who sees hundreds of homes a year can evaluate in person.
