The Vera. Better than Nothing and Could be Worse are as positive as I can get. On the negative side, a terrible location for public housing and this site in particular. Windy as hell. And instead of lifting up the community, we are seen by our neighbors as a negative. They fought to keep us out and we are not well considered. Which leads to the other big problem here. So many agendas, requirements and regulations. Their is nothing left. And with reduced on-site staff and operating funds post-pandemic, problems only seem to be increasing. On the other hand, it could be worse.

Fair Market valued valued apartments. Nice building only has an unfinished look about it overall. Reasonably priced rent, with single snd 2 bedroom sized apartments. Located very close to both the MAX lines and the Portland Street Car lines. Nice Southwestern access to the Willamette River and a few blocks away from the waterfront area where the Portland Blues Festival is held every year. Near by Portland Portland State University Campus.

I was working on getting an apartment at The Vera. I was first turned down because I might be involved in and eviction This was overturned and sent back to the compliance department. After about a week I was called and informed I had to go down and put a 1 for banking information. This was caught only only the application was sent in. Although prompt and courteous, the front desk manager was only able to repeat information given and standard operating procedures. Her manager gave me the same information after I made a request for a return of the deposit or a deadline when this issue would be resolved. At the time of this review, it is three weeks after the second submission of my application. No word from The Vera.

Questions & Answers

Was the Vera named after that very cool mayor of Portland that the Espanade is named after?

The Vera is a snake that Smithers around humid areas of the poor neighborhood and socks the blood of dark children.... OK actually this place is great very comfortable. The management and everyone seems pretty cool. Even though I think we should have a pool and a couple hot tubs!? Anyway living downtown is a little different, you got to throw away your Criddlers cape and use some manners. Peace

What will a one bedroom cost? Can I register through Cascade Aids Project?
