Before I start writing this, I read some other reviews, of course, some people had a very good experience with this venue, also some were not happy with the service, then I looked at the venue management responses which included lots of excuses. My family and I attended my cousin's wedding on July 3rd at the Brighton Abbey. As the reception began the room started to get hotter and hotter so hot that guests had to leave early and they missed most of the wedding and management did nothing to resolve the issue I’m guessing they preferred to save money over bringing a technician to do the job which they were 100% capable of, not to mention that they were aware of the issue from a week before. As I was reading one of their responses they mentioned that they couldn’t find someone on a Sunday afternoon, but I find that hard to believe there are 24/7 companies which they could reach out to immediately, I have lots of experience working with several contractors they always have a few techs on call no matter what day or what time they’ll show up with just one phone call. I wish I had the option to give this place a negative star.

Unfortunately there is no zero star. I attended my best friend’s wedding at this venue, I was looking forward to it. From the moment I walked into the reception I felt that something is wrong, the place was so hot. It appeared that AC wasn’t working, at first I couldn’t believe it, I was there for a few hours and the guest were trying to cool themselves off by using paper plates! Yes, paper plates and even napkins. Guest were leaving very early around 8:30PM while the reception was planned to be until 11PM. One of the best and memorable moments of each couple at the wedding night is to cut the cake, unfortunately the bride and groom were informed that the beautiful three tier cake was melting and they had to quickly cut the cake, so everyone missed seeing that beautiful moment. For a venue like this, it’s expected they take the issue serious and make an effort to fix the AC as this was an emergency situation, some of the guest had some health conditions. I can’t believe the management didn’t fix it from 5PM that we walked in to the reception until 11PM (6 hours is so much time to fix any AC issues), needless to say that this should not be an issue for a wedding day. We were literally burning there, the outside temperature was 100 degree F, this is Texas and AC not working (no matter of the reason) is insane. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, please be aware, this WILL happen to you.

" Warning!!! " I attended my friend wedding on July 3rd 2022 at Brighton Abbey. Wedding should have been the couples most memorable and beautiful day. Their dream wedding became a blazing-hot hell when this wedding venue didn’t warn them the air conditioners were not working. The wedding started around 6 pm. Outside temperature was 98 degrees, just imagine how hot could have been in a room with 140+ people! After 30 minutes the bride was blushing and so was everyone else, thanks to 90+ degree temperature. Everyone was so sweaty and wet. Our hair was a mess. Around 9:30pm, they brought a few small AC towers but still was so hot, yet at 10:45pm, 15 minutes before the wedding was over, room temperature was 82 degrees (see the picture). As far as I know this AC issue happened to two other couples and their guests too. One of them was on Jun 25th 2022 and the other one was on July 7th. Brighton Abbey did not care to fix the issue for 3 weddings in a row. I would NEVER recommend this place for a wedding as it will not be your most memorable day in a GOOD way. Everyone at the wedding felt the same way and we all felt bad for the beautiful couple. Pure negligence on Brighton Abbey part for mismanagement of this venue.

ATTENTION- ZERO stars is more accurate for this venue with its’ HOT BALLROOM. No one deserves to experience being this hot on their wedding night.—My beautiful cousin married the man of her dreams at this venue last weekend. She was full of grace and love and this is what I will always remember of her wedding night because it is important to focus on the positive. I will make this review as short as possible as this venue does not deserve any attention. The air conditioner in the ballroom did NOT work at all. The reception would have been cooler had the wedding been held outside in their courtyard on the night of July 3rd. After several hours, they brought stand up fans to cool down the ballroom; this helped only when I danced directly in front of the bigger fan off to the side of the dance floor. The bride and groom and most guests did not have the luxury to dance off to the side like I did, but I had to since I was in a coma earlier this year and I’m still recovering and had to be careful to not pass out from the excess heat. There is so much more that want to write in this review regarding the service that was delivered but I won’t as it would possibly hurt my cousin’s feelings if she ever read this. There are AC companies on call after hours to address issues such as this but they did not contact one. Interestingly, the bride from the weekend before who had her reception in this same ballroom left a review after her wedding and stated that the AC did not work on her wedding night and that her guests were hot and a vendor had to leave early and some of her guests also left early due to the heat. Why did the venue not address this issue after the wedding the previous weekend? To find the bride’s review it seems like Google’s algorithm has to be bypassed by clicking the “newest” tab to see the reviews that tell how the weddings have been for at least the last 2 weeks. I have been 100% honest in this review and I wish I could have written a review that was the opposite of what happened, but this was my cousin’s wedding night.

Vcitoria, This is a new website as well as new owners. The problem is that our Google Business listing is still notifying me, the owner of Harmony Chapel. We will work on getting this changed over but you might want to call Brighton Abbey in the meantime since Google sometimes takes a while to update these changes!
