Nice place but horribly full of trash. Didn't include pics of the trash but in some areas looks like a landfill.

It is a really nice and quiet trail, but it is lined by homes so you don't feel like you are disconnected if that is what you are looking for.

..Took a stroll Thanksgiving weekend on the woodsy well kept trail. Lots of leaves as it is Autumn. I bet its beautiful in the Spring!

One of my favorite places in Rowlett, I come here stressed and leave a new woman. It is a small oasis in a suburban area. In the spring the smell of honeysuckle fills the air and makes the relaxing walk beneath the trees that much more enjoyable. In the fall the foliage is a gorgeous kaleidoscope of colors. The park is clean and the path is well maintained and wide enough to accommodate groups.

The trailhead has parking for about 12 or so cars. It's not very clearly marked, but it's there.

Crappie, catfish, Bass

Are there good places to fish from the bank, not too snake infested open ground? I'm new to the area. Thanks.

I've been fishing there since 1990. I've ran into a few snakes there but they never bothered me. The fishing is kinda slow but when you do catch one They are good size. The best spot is beyond the river bend. Where the river spreads out wide just before it splits into two and meets again about 6 hundred yards down stream. Catfish. Crappie, white bass and black bass all hide in the stick ups around in that area that can be reached by the bank.
