This caring AA community saved my friend's life! She was terrified to attend her first meeting and even more terrified to eventually admit outloud, she was an alcoholic. They immediately embraced her, encouraged her, demonstrated they were there for her, every baby step of the way, even when she and Al (Alcohol) continued their destructive, on again, off again relationship. Today, she and Al haven't seen each other for just over eight months, and although I applaud her for having the tenacity to overcome Al's allure, I know it 's all because of the strength infused in her by this wonderful group of angels. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart...and, most surely, hers! (heart) Update: My dear friend celebrated her "One Year Sober-versary" on April 1st! She still regularly attends the AA meetings and looks forward to seeing her friends each week. What a difference a year makes.

I am an addict looking for a 24 hour sobriety club. I have started to attend NA meetings in my city, but they are not every day, and I am trying to do ninety meetings in. May I come to the intergroup facility in Salem to study or attend AA meetings?

Check out the sos club and the welcomaaa club. Both in Salem and I think what you are looking for.

Do I have to be sober to come to a meeting?

Bruce Carson | Aug 19, 2018

No. But you may be encouraged to listen only if you are under the influence at the time. This is a suggestion and can vary from meeting to meeting. If you are able to share without disrupting is the primary condition.

There are a good number of meetings in the salem/keizer area. The best way I have found to locate meetings is the meeting guide app. It works wonders. Hope this helps. Be blessed.

When is Soberfest 2019?

I don't think a date has been set yet.

what are meeting codes?

Murphy Ikard | Aug 19, 2018
Heather Gilker | Aug 19, 2018

The codes help people find different kinds of meetings. For example, a C designates the meeting as Closed to only people who identify as an alcoholic. An O means the meeting is Open to people who aren't sure if they are alcoholic or not. A W means it's a Women's meeting, as an M means it's a Men's meeting.
