Surrounding is very dirty and there are strange people next to the ticket vending machines. The machine itself did not work properly and it took 9$ without giving me the ticket. The metro is full of homeless people and overall it’s not so clean.

I loved this station, it's nicely designed, colorful, laid-back, and contemporary in style! Especially when tied in with the surrounding street lights and apartments and eclectic community, this station feels like as if it's a beating heart of Santa Monica. Plus, the location is extremely convenient, the world-famous pier is a block away, the shopping mall is barely a two-minute walk from the station, the 3rd street Promenade is less than 5 min away, it's all in one place without needing to worry about the hassle of parking. This has been my favorite light rail station in the entire LA area, period. I don't know which rail station, if any, could beat Santa Monica's!

Santa Monica is a cool place to visit. Lots of restaurants and entertainment. Going beach side is a whole different experience though. If your a person who has never seen a Pacific sunset, go down to Santa Monica or Venice Beach and just walk the bike path and watch the sun go down. Beauty you can only find in California. Hope you get to experience it sometime, absolutely breathtaking.

3 points for a line that goes from the beach to downtown. Points of Improvement: Mistake to build street grade at Barrington and Olympic. This backs up traffic past Pico and Barrington and in the opposite direction nearly every time the train passes because the lights are so close together. Who did this traffic study? Olympic and Bundy - Major lack of day parking at station in close proximity to trains. All of the decent parking is monthly and close to the station entrance across busy Bundy. Why would anyone commute this close and be a monthly user? There are HUNDREDS of monthly spots and not nearly enough day spots. You can't pay for day parking at a meter at this location you have to call in and pay via lot number which is not easy to spot in BFE. The Downtown Santa Monica stop has everyone entering and exiting on the same side. This is terribly inefficient when there is another side to the platform that's already been completed. It's new...so maybe these points will be improved.

Metro 1-way Trip $1.75 Tap Fee $1 Total Due $2.75
There are parking structures all around the area. Best thing to do is either walk or take a bus to the station though.
Yes, you can fill it at the Santa Monica station

Board METRO Expo line from Santa Monica Station to 7th MC. Transfer to Redline Or Purple line East to Union Station.. Have a safe trip..
No, you need to purchase one at the station
You can find parking around the station for $10-15 also the street meters are ok if you park 2 blocks away. Some meters have longer time then others, that station has no parking assigned.
