I come from the Chicago burbs and Portillo’s was one of my go-to places. I was beyond thrilled to hear they were coming to Fishers. Gave me a true taste of home. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu but the beef (extra gravy) with fries and a shake … a pure delight!

2021-11-27 apx 830pm local time First time visit today on a recommendation from a friend. I ordered beef and sausage with extra gravy combo, large fries plus cheese, large coke, and a cake shake. Beef and sausage was good. The sausage was almost burnt and not very juicy. Had a nice sharp flavor. The beef was very tasty. The gravy is like an au jus and perfect for dipping. I highly recommend it. Lots of fries falling out of the container. Crinkle cut fries were solid B but in my opinion could have stood another 1 minute in the fryer. The cheese is the bright yellow food service cheese that most people like. I am still partial to my ketchup when it comes to crinkle cut fries. Coke is almost as good as the Mac D standard. The cake shake was so rich it was borderline too much... almost. The flavor was exquisite chocolate that I was not expecting. The cake was chocolate like none other. The chocolate ganache they make the shake portion out of was very delicious. I personally like my shakes quite thick and this was not. Shake portion was quite liquid. The cake on the bottom of the cup made for the perfect slurry to soak up the shake liquid. Verdict - go here and get Italian beef without the sausage and most certainly get a cake shake after you eat.

I do my best to give portillo's the benefit of the doubt, I do not have many Chicago style restaurants to rely on here in indy. This is the second time that I made purchases from portillo's here in Fishers where I live and it's been disappointing. My order was to have four burgers wrapped in lettuce. All were in buns. I also ordered a salad and requested to have the pasta removed along with the bacon but as you can see it's still present. On the lighter note the house dressing is good. Not good enough to make me go beyond one star sadly.

Loved the food. Nothing like a Italian beer and sausage combo. It’s the best and they don’t make it as wet as other beef places sometimes do. Great cheese fries too. And the beer is in the most frosty glass mug ever. Service was A bit off. They gave us the wrong soft drinks and did not add the got peppers to my beef and pepper combo. VictorB
