I moved in to Slate June of 2021. Staff was very efficient and friendly with my move-in process. My unit was clean and looked identical to photos online and the unit I virtually toured. The area (fletcher place) is extremely nice. There's a selection of 5-10 restaurants within 3 minutes walking distance, and you will frequently see people running on the sidewalks. Slate is built above an arcade bar and restaurant but very rarely will you experience noise disturbances. In fact, this complex is probably one of the quietest places I've lived. Majority of residents seem to be young professionals. Maintenance is very fast, responsive, and always provides notice to enter your unit. There was one instance where one of my lightbulbs went out and maintenance replaced the bulb during a furnace check. I was surprised because maintenance staff took care of the issue without my prompting. Regarding downsides, this unit is expensive, but I personally believe it's worth the price. It can be a bit tricky getting out of the underground parking garage because it's difficult to see cross traffic. The gym is also very small and has minimal equipment. It's a bit far away (10-15 min drive depending on traffic) from IUPUI and the hospitals if you are a student/resident. There is also no common area. I left Slate in March of 2022 for work related reasons. I would definitely live here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends.

The rent is high but it is worth every penny of it. The negative review for Todd does NOT make any sense to me. He is responsive and professional for each interaction we had in the past 1.5 year.

My husband and I just left SLATE in June for a move to Washington state for work. We lived in two different apartments during our time at SLATE and loved them both - a 1 bdrm and and 2bdrm. They were both beautiful as well as functional. The staff is wonderful and the maintenance manager, Vince is amazing. Not to mention, you can't beat the neighborhood. You can walk to everything and the food in the area is excellent! I highly recommend Deylen Realty / SLATE.

Shelly and Todd are incredibly rude, disrespectful and clearly do not value customer service. Todd VanDeylen should be ashamed of the way they he speaks down to potential renters. Stay far away.
