I was reading prior reviews to this location and see if anyone else had the same issue I had when visiting this post office. After reading them I realized I was not the only one to receive such bad customer service from the same worker. The post worker named John had no interest in helping me or informing me about the policies they have to follow. He was quick to help other customers before me, even though he knew I had an appointment and still proceeded to inform me he had canceled my appointment. His explanation was unreasonable and unhelpful to the situation. I had then asked for his supervisor or managers contact information. He then proceeded to make a mockery out of it and called himself the manger. From the beginning his attitude was unwelcoming and at the end of it I was left with disgust in how poorly he treated me as a customer. I recorded the encounter after he denied me service. His answers and reaction prove that other similar reviews about him are not exaggerated and attention should be brought to his disgusting behavior towards customers.

Sounds like many have had a bad experience with John. Others in this office are reasonable and work with you within your time frame if it doesn’t get in the way of others. But not John. John wants to make sure he doesn’t brake “policy” because he’s the “little guy” (as he called himself) and can’t work outside that framework. He made us reschedule although the other parent was in her car parked down the block, all paperwork was filled out, and were there on time. We both took time off of work to make the appointment. We even went back in to try again, and hoped he would be reasonable enough to help with the passport well within the time frame of our appointment, BUT he already cancelled it in the system so there was no more appointment. He said I had “all great points but it didn’t matter” because of the pink paper posted on the door. I get “policy” and not wanting to “lose your job” because you didn’t follow a policy. I don’t want anyone to lose their job for me. I don’t want anyone to do something way out of their scope to help me. What we asked of him was well within his power and not inconveniencing anyone but him and the “policy”. Questions for this office or Post Master: would John be fired because he helped us within the window of time we scheduled? Is John not able to work “outside” the “policy” posted on the door to serve the public? Should John have helped us or rejected us as he did?

Absolutely terrible. Worst post office ever!!! They keep saying my house is vacant and returning my packages when my house is definitely not vacant! I live here with my husband and daughter. Told them plenty of times I live here and then they continue to send my mail and packages back.

Expect a wait even if there is no line in the afternoons. Customer service is not a priority. Was told that man was too busy to assist me and that I would need to stand until he was finished with task in back before he would come to assist if I wanted counter help. Waited 10 minutes after ringing bell after waiting 5 minutes with no one coming to counter. Monmouth is better option if you need counter assistance. Persons in am are more receptive to assisting but if you go after 2, expect drop off only.

Sunday was a holiday (Juneteenth) so a lot of businesses, like banks, got Monday off. Not sure about Saturday, possibly the same thing.
I don't think they have any copy machines I would go to a print shop they make copies the most of them if you're in the Salem area go to copycats
Forms are at the post office. Just so you know, almost all international countries will not accept a passport card. They are great for local border travel.
