Great place for camping and relaxing with your family. The forest rangers are great too and pleasant to talk to. My main reason for writing this review is to caution the people who are travelling from Ellensberg. The cops lay a trap there to strictly or falsely(sometimes) ticket you for silly or no reason. Please read the reviews on "Lower Kittitas County District Court" and know for yourself. I myself was ticketed for slowing down but not stopping at the stop sign(which am sure I did not), and the officer was pretty rude during the conversation (as if she was against the people visiting from the city). Sad part is you cant do anything about it. So be extremely cautious while travelling from Ellensberg.

Beautiful and spacious picnic and playing areas.

Beautiful State Park. Didn’t get to explore much because of a down pour. But it was filled with the sounds of spring which was totally refreshing as was the rain.

Clean and safe experience for the kiddos, just like when I was a kid! Thanks for taking care of this great park.

Yes. $10 daily or $35 annually (WA Discover Pass) plus camp fee (if staying overnight)
3/1/20
You might even be able to find M!!
Some sites have their own standalone grill. You can definitely bring your own to any sites. The reservation website might tell you for each site what amenities it has
We came back from the car races late and didn't have any trouble getting in. there was no shut gate
Yes my grandparents use a 38' motor home
10$ day each car. Call park to reserve area.
Yes, plan ahead especially on weekends. Much easier for weekdays that are not holidays. Very easy walla around
A reservation helps. All slots can be reserved, but if you don't have a reservation its first come first served. Check the pay station board for avaliable slots, as the individual sights aren't marked as to their availability.
The park is currently open. You can fish the small ponds but no swimming is allowed. The park has lots of shade and picnic tables for day use. RV camping is currently closed. The RV dump site opened last week. We visit there with our dog's once a week.
Camping side and amenities are still closed until we are able to progress to new phases.
All RV sites have potable water. It's included in the price of an over night stay. I stint know if you can stop in for just water.
The park is currently closed to camping.
I believe they do have full hookups for trailers and motorhomes. Some group camps are just domestic hose bib. Bathrooms are clean. Showers... some of them are out of order since February as per the receptionists.
There is a charge unless you have a Discover Pass which gets you into all state parks. It's worth the $30 yearly fee.
We paid $45 + $5 nonresident fee + $8 reservation fee for a RV camp site in June 2019.
An annual pass ( honored at all Wash. State parks) is $30. A daily user fee is $15. Camping fees vary depending on length of stay and amenities desired. Sportsmans is a great park any time of the season. It does close for a couple months during winter.
Sportsman park ends up closing the year out by shutting down completely December til I believe March. Its due to the water and sewer lines freezing.
Yes! They have rv camp spots with the hoom ups, as well as those public restrooms with electricity 😃
Not sure about weekly rates, but each night was $30
3 days, but there were a few people staying longer.
