What a great tour! All of the people at Dana Wharf were so kind, informative and accommodating. While we were waiting to board some people who had been on the last tour had told us they had seen BLUE WHALES!!! We started the tour very cautiously hopeful. When the tour began it felt like the Captain knew exactly where he was heading for. When we started slowing down he told us that there were Blue Whales near! We were told their breathing/dive cycle was about 7 or 8 minutes, and he was right!!! We were in8tiated into the 1% club (my kids are still talking about it) of humans who will ever see a BLUE WHALE, and we saw 2. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are trying to get back out today for another tour. I was disappointed that we didn't get in town soon enough to do the Sunday fishing trip, with kids lesson (I won't miss it next time we are back), but this made it all better. I would definitely be missing another big deal if I didn't mention that the bathroom was very clean! Such a relief when I have a bunch of kids and have to be in there multiple times. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable experience 🐳🐳🐳

After growing up in this area, we had never gone whale watching. Little did I know that Dana Point is the whale watching and dolphin capital of the World! Whether or not this is self-proclaimed, we had an amazing trip. Our family had the last trip out for the day on the Dana Pride. After waiting about an hour and slight disappoint starting to set in, we crossed in to the largest pod of dolphins I have ever seen; well over 100. There were so many we stayed out well past our allocated time. We were also educated that dolphins are whales. We saw your more typical bottlenose dolphins and for the first time a pod of Risso dolphins. We were too late in the season to see migrating whales but seeing all these dolphins in one place we incredible. Moses recommends Dana Wharf Whale Watching.

We had a great time on this, we got to see alot of ocean life, bottle nose dolphins, ocean sun fish, jelly fish, there was even a jumping show put on by some larger dolphins. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable

Went out on Clemente today with my brother. The crew was outstanding!! The captain brought us to spot after spot of good fishing. After all was said and done, well over a hundred fish had been pulled in. The deck hands were amazing. They were very experienced and helpful. They were fast and efficient and always ready to help. The galley chef made food throughout the trip and the food was great! He offered several options and the galley was always warm and delicious smelling. I recommend this crew to anyone looking for a stress free fishing trip.

Yes you just have to let them know in advance before you go down there so they know to help best as possible
That depends of the type and size of the fish. Tuna and Dorado (Small size) are around $7 per fish. Rock fish are in the $2 to $3 range
Yeah, I pack light, the boat can be crowded in the most popular areas and you're only out there for two hours, there are snacks for sale.
14 and older need a license. Yes you can get a one day from them.
This is one of the most unforgettable experiences you (young and old) could ever have. Take jackets with you even on a warm day. Dana Wharf S. &S., us the best and most reliable service to take you where the dolphins and whales are. If you are in Long Beach, then ask at the Aquarium of the Pacific about their modern catamaran excursions to see whales, that's the only one that (in my opinion) offers a better and more comfortable whale watching experience.
No but if service dogs, not sure they can deny
You can take a train from San Diego to Dana Point via Oceanside Amtrak Station, Oceanside station, and Laguna Niguel ... For more info. go to: Rome2rio
You should have gotten an email ?
You can also buy on line at danawharf.com we are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas thanks again
Just depends on the food supply for the whales, whats in the area.
check in at shop so you and your party are on their manifest. you will get a boarding pass and parking pass from the shop folks. make sure you check in 30 minutes before departure time
No sorry we don’t - many San Diego tacke shops do !
You just show up half hour before is good. If you don't see any whales they give you a free ticket to come back. Well worth the money ! There's food and drink onboard and indoor and outdoor seating and also bathrooms. Remember sunscreen and jacket. And Dramamine !
That I don't know. I know you will probably have fun galore.
