Definately the nicest dog park we have been too in the great San diego area. Clean, grassy, lots of shade but wide open areas for running. Dogs of all sizes and breeds can interact in the mixed size dog run or if you're dog is smaller like ours, you can utilize the small dog run. There are clean bathrooms and a playground nearby for kids as well

One of the best dog parks I've been to in San Diego. The landscaping is great for the dogs (and for people). Lots of grass and shady trees for the dogs. Also has a dog agility area.

Unfortunately, poorly designed, ridiculously miniscule "small" dog area - Not enough space for small dogs or puppies to run or exercise so that area it is basically useless. So many people and dogs in the small dog area that we had to stand very close to each other - it was weird. We moved over to the all-dog area, which is big but had a lot of dead grass in January and we only found one water fountain station. It also closes early at 6 pm. Overall this park was not worth the trip - there are so many other great dog-friendly parks and beaches nearby.

UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! The park is closed through May 31st for spring cleaning, from May 3rd through May 31st I think , and today is May 15th? So ? Here we go again haha Original review... Depending on your needs, for the size of the city this park is incredible. It is by far the definite favorite of most people in this area that I have had the pleasure of speaking with in the park. Having been to most of them myself, I would say it definitely ranks in the top two or three as long as you're not counting Ocean Beach or Fiesta Island. It has a very nice walking path around the outside edge that has elevation changes that has no steps, which for some of us makes it much nicer. The fencing is very nice, it is a heavy wood post and cross beams with black mesh fence. For some, the most important thing is the bathrooms are right by the dog park!! Google Maps doesn't lead you to the right place because the dog park is actually all the way on the back side of the park. There is a nice little path that walks you in and once you get down to where you see the paw prints on the ground and the bathroom the dog park is just right around the corner. I took some pictures from the entryway also so you know what to look for when you're driving around trying to find the dog park. But it is well worth the walk and the frustration of trying to find the right parking spot
