Went on a tour yesterday with Joe Passereti from the Gaines campus and was amazed by the care that the animals at the Ramona Campus are receiving. I love Brawley the coyote who was the sweetest and most playful animal who really loved her caregivers. You could see the trust and bond between them. Plus she got a new toy that made her day and watching her play with it was a joy. Too anyone reading this please donate to help these animals.

Super helpful staff and were available for us to drop off some baby hawks that had fallen out of their nest on a Sunday.

Local area drop off for injured wildlife. Nice gift shop. More people should support this facility. They do great things!!

They are doing wonderful work to help injured wildlife. Impressive aviary. Can always use volunteers if you live nearby.

Questions & Answers

Can people visit and see the animals?

No. Because most of them are wild and will be released when they recover. Human interaction can cause them to become habituated and can not be released.

We have discovered coyote pups living in our back yard. I live in Escondido in a residential neighborhood. I'm afraid the pups could get hit by a car or hurt. Do you capture and rehabilitate the animals elsewhere?

Usually they suggest to leave them alone as mom is nearby. If mom is known dead or babies starving try your local wildlife services to see where they bring wildlife

Does this shelter take baby wild rabbits. The weasels got all but one , he's about a week old ?

We recommend Project Wildlife for non-predator animals. But if you are closer to Fund For Animals we would be happy to take the rabbit in for you.
