Girlfriend found the love of her life here! Older, small dog, with just a few years left. She said, " I never thought I could love a dog this much". Both reaping benefits. 👍

Frosted Faces is doing a wonderful thing. However, their method of trying to adopt out these dogs is somewhat misleading. Each dog has a profile written for them that make them sound like the perfect dog. What the foundation does not disclose until you arrive at their rural facility are the major medical issues that most of these dogs have. In fact, after filling out their application, they will ask you to list your top three dogs that you would like to meet. What they won't tell you is, for one, the medical conditions, but more importantly, whether you are driving out there needlessly because something on your application isn't a good match with one or more of the dogs, or the dogs are in no condition to meet potential families that day. REPLY TO FFF: I haven't left any negative reviews on any other non-profit group. Please take a step back and stop being so defensive. That only makes you look even worse, attacking me with false information from what sounds like a canned response. I read all of your replies to your reviews and you are extremely insecure and defensive. There were not even close to 50 dogs on-site when I was there and the adoption counselor was very unsure that my dog and I were a good fit for any of your dogs on or off-site, yet whoever approved my application was sure we were perfect. I am not going to keep this discussion going with you because you clearly cannot take criticism. I will NOT be responding to any more of your false attacks on my character. That is very unprofessional and immature of you as a non-profit organization and I will not recommend you to anyone who asks about my experience with you.

I have had my Frosted Faces senior for 2 years. The organization has been extremely supportive and caring. Dr. Russell is excellent in senior healthcare. This is a very loving supportive place. I love my dog and she has changed my life with the love she gives me. Looking for unconditional love? These dogs are ready to love and be loved. Happy Frosted Faces Mom Diana

I went to the open house yesterday to meet some of the pups. And am still blown away by all the things this amazing organization does Erin the volunteer who gave me a tour and answered all of my questions was really patient, kind, professional and knowledgeable about all of the dogs and programs. I learned they have a hike every Sunday where volunteers can join and they load all the dogs in a van and they go to a different hike each time. If the dogs can not walk they go in strollers and they still get to enjoy life. The space is very large, clean and all of the dogs were obviously taken very good care of because they were clean and happy roaming freely playing or resting in the huge outdoor play area. Almost all of the dogs were outside but the few that needed to be inside could. Check out their website to see more. They provide San Diego County seniors with dogs for free and assign them a volunteer who visits them at home monthly. Should the senior become ill and need to be hospitalized they board the dog for free so they can keep their dog when they get out of the hospital. If needed a volunteer drives the dog to the groomers for free and the senior pays for the grooming. They also pay for the dogs vet bills. But this is not all. You can adopt free without being a senior and get vet services through them too This place breaks the barriers that prevent senior dogs from going to loving homes. I know many people would not consider an older pet because they are afraid they could get sick and they may not be able to afford the vet bills. This place makes me so happy.

Questions & Answers

I am a healthy 81 year old woman. My sweet bichon went to heaven one month ago. He was my companion for 14 years. Do you allow those of my age to adopt?

Barbara, I hope you were able to adopt another dog! Your age should not be a deterrent.

I know they have a lot of Volunteers and are very conscientious about the people they Bring in to their Foundation. You should attend an "Open House" on Saturdays.

Hello, my name isKaren. I am 75, reasonably healthy. Very interested in adapting a senior dog. But traveling is an issue. I live in Ventura County. CA. DO you maintain available info on adoptable dogs?

I'm a senior, but I live in Ontario canada, do you have an organisation in Canada I can look into?

Unfortunately, they are an independent animal rescue & have no affiliates. They have had several Canadian families visit San Diego County to adopt, though. Perhaps you should contact them directly to find out if they know of similar organizations nearer to you.
