Blue aisle lights and prominently placed lit exit sign kind of washed out the screen in one of the smaller theaters. Great movie, great location, but not the best screening, unfortunately.

Great staff. Seats very comfortable. Bathroom and theater very clean. Manager very professional and helpful. Parking easy making getting into theater very easy. Staff actually answers phones if they can to answer questions not available online.

I hadn't been here in easily 20 years, and I'm happy to say that I had such a good time coming back! The Monday and Tuesday bargain screenings are so cool and worth it. The parking was fairly easy, and you can even get your ticket validated. The staff at the box office were super friendly and helpful. I was lucky to be in one of the theaters with recliners, and even as a bigger person, the recliners were super comfortable, and the theater was immaculate. They do a good job with the temperature control as well. Just enough A/C. The sound quality and picture quality were great, and on the whole, the theater still looks great and well preserved. Go support this gem! It's a historic part of Hillcrest and cinematic art in San Diego. P.S.: Dear new owners of the Ken Cinema, wherever you are: please don't allow our Ken to turn into some kind of yoga studio. I'm a San Diego native, and the last thing we need is one less art theater. Please and thank you. ;)

We saw “Leave No Trace” here on a Sunday afternoon. The staff is wonderful. They even had a guy step out in front of the theater and humorously remind everyone to turn their phones off, and to not talk during the film. I can’t speak to the food. We just shared a root beer. The little mall is really neat. We walked, but apparently they validate parking. Our only gripe was the seats. I guess we’re just spoiled, but we’re accustomed to seats where you can put your feet up. The seats allow you to lean back, but they are not designed to remain in the back position. Overall, a well-run theater.

It's so well air conditioned that you might want to bring a jacket!
Is there closed caption or tcoil?
I was incredibly comfortable when I saw a movie there recently!
Successfully used Moviepass here today at the kiosk. I believe they just added all landmark theaters!
Their options (check online) cover different genres. Romance included.
Sound is pretty good. Good volume and couldn't hear any of the other rooms.

Popcorn, candy bars, wine, beer
There are previews...about 7min or take. So you don't have very long after 4:50pm start time
Beautiful theatres, and they NEED attendance to stay in business! Support them so we counting to have access to independent films, foreign films. Otherwise, San Diego well lose this important venue!
I don't work for the movies. But normally there are "no" subtitles. Except when the movie is made in Latin America.
As far as I know, no: they only have one language spoken in the theater, although some films are in Spanish with subtitles.
Now it's the Landmark Hillcrest.
There is an elevator outside the theater, tucked into the side of the grand stairwell. From there you should be good to go. I do not recall stairs in the theater my movie played in. Best Luck
And it is great!
All of their theaters have wheelchair accessible seating.
Some of their rooms are small and sell out. So, buy the ticket.
Be specific about which movie and Google the run time. Then add about 8 mins for trailers...
The tickets are $11.00 for all, and that's weekdays or weekends. They have different categories on the website for children, adults, and seniors, but, the price is the same.
Senior and children are $11.00, and weekend adults are $14.00.
It is just one location with multiple screens
No but now you have to check in when you are 100 ft away. Use your movie pass card at the keiosk for your ticket. Of course can't say if all movies will be on for viewing. I used We'd to see Beal Street and all showing for all 3 movies were available.
Not at the Landmark theaters. At the other larger theaters.
On the Fandango app you can search for a specific movie. Was at the Hillcrest but has been gone for a few weeks.
About $15 per person.
Movies change weekly. Check out their website!
