I finally went back to Point Roberts with a friend of mine last weekend - August long weekend in Canada. Point Roberts has been a meaningful place for my family for almost 100 years, but I haven't visited for 10. We went early from the Canada side. We were hungry and so we went to the only place offering breakfast - Saltwater Cafe - still bringing it after 2+ extremely hard years. We overheard some folks (they were talking loudly on the patio) complaining about how some of their orders were mixed up, taking too long, as if it was a chain restaurant with every resource and they were just screwing up. They're locally owned (I'm pretty sure!), with a small staff - hard to recruit in PR, and operating out of a charming converted cabin because it's POINT ROBERTS, cut them a flipping break! They are bringing back the tourists! Yes, we had to wait in line (yay for business!) and yes, some dishes from our order took a long-ish while and the staff needed some reminders. It's Point Roberts! It's tiny and chill! Has been since it was established. And Saltwater Cafe is a small-size business putting out medium- to large-size orders while also offering awesome views, baked goods, ambience. Also, recovering from a MAJOR downturn. I recommend Saltwater Cafe with all my heart and not only because it's the only full breakfast and brunch game in town in PR. But if you're looking for a full breakfast on a tight schedule...go to the Starbucks in Delta...why are you in Point Roberts? And also, they've got many decadent pastries and breads if you just want to eat something....

July 2022, stopped by for coffee and huge cinnamon rolls, and they were so good that we returned later in the day for lunch. Mushroom panini was delicious. Staff was super busy and very friendly.

Visited Point Roberts for the first time this Easter weekend and stopped by this quaint little cafe for brunch. Since the recent border reopening, they were understandably busy yet shortstaffed. They were also the only restaurant open at the time. The owner was also having some issues with the circuit breaker to add to her frustration. The lady helping out at the counter was very nice though. You get a menu by the counter and order from there. They gave us a heads up that food might take longer to arrive and were apologetic about it. I wanted the mushroom panini but had to settle for avocado toast since I was informed the former would take longer to prepare. Our food didn't take that long to be honest and when it arrived, everything was really flavorful! We had the baked florentine, tomato and avocado benedict, club sandwich, PB&J, and avocado toast! Might have to come back again for their mushroom panini.

The Salt Water Cafe was an unexpected pleasure. I came to Point Robert's to fuel my car and drove around out of curiosity. There were limited options for places to eat, but the Salt Water Cafe was open, the menu offers a wide variety of food options from quick snacks to vegetarian platters to full meals for all tastes. The staff were excellent, food top notch and the atmosphere unrushed and relaxing. An ideal restaurant in an excellent community.
