Maintenance guys are great people, truly, so is the head property manager. The staff however with a few exceptions are horrendous to work with. Was put out of my apartment for months during the COVID lockdown due to construction.

Flawed service and communication, expect to get fees for everything if you live here. Rent is way too high for absolutely no space in four person suites. Amenities are often under repair or broken indefinitely, fire alarms go off unprovoked forcing residents onto the street at odd hours, and staff is very shady. Look at getting a house or a cheaper apartment run by a less shady corporation. Edited to add that Oshūn, a new employee, appears to be making many positive changes to the environment, but unless more staff with this genuinely helpful initiative takeover, I cannot recommend this building.

If you are planning to rent from this company—DON'T! Our son rented with them for the 2017/2018 school year. He and his roommate were leaving for the summer, so I went and thoroughly cleaned his apartment. I knew this was necessary since they had retained some of the security deposit when my other son lived at a different property. You can see from the photos I took, the apartment was absolutely spotless. I even emailed the photos to Eastbank and told them he was leaving for the summer. In August, they sent an email to my son saying they had his security deposit and he needed to pick it up in the office or email them an address where it could be mailed. He had not returned to the U so he responded that same day with our address. He didn't tell us and forgot about it. In November I realized we had never gotten the deposit back and I asked him about it. He emailed them and called them and got no response. So I called and started emailing and could get absolutely no one to respond to our request. I finally threatened to do just this, write a bad review on the web, in addition to contacting legal representation and the property manager finally responded and said they'd get a check going. They know what they are doing is illegal and wrong. That was on February 15. On March 15 I still had no check and kept emailing and calling until I finally got a response. The check finally arrived on March 16 and they had taken $200 of our security deposit saying they needed to shampoo my son's bedroom carpeting, do a complete apartment, kitchen and bathroom clean. They charged us $10 for a light bulb. When we first moved in, we replaced countless lightbulbs in addition to a smoke alarm battery that they failed to come and address when we asked. And I am a clean freak, so I guarantee you, that apartment was cleaner than any other apartment in that building. If you had a similar problem, I'd love to hear about it. Anyway, I emailed both the woman I had emailed the photos to in May and the assistant property manager asking for an explanation and asking for the remainder of my deposit. As of this writing on March 19, I have had no response. They are incompetent, dishonest, and completely unresponsive. Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT FROM EAST BANK. In response to your pat response below—I have called and contacted the office many, many times and no one has responded. No one ever knows what is going on, everyone says they will call back once they talk to whomever they need to talk to, and no one EVER calls back. I think it's time to get legal involved. Maybe a class action lawsuit, as I see it happens to other people as well from reading the reviews below.

Avoid any properties managed by East Bank Communities. They're nice buildings in good locations, however the property management is absolutely appalling. At my current building, exterior doors are constantly broken, with the door handle unattached, or locking mechanism not working. Garage door has shut on top of my vehicle, and the elevators routinely malfunction (state inspection certificates are expired). The list goes on and on. Recently, they didn't give reasonable notice before entering my apartment unit. Also, my roommate transferred her lease, and East Bank Communities refuses to furnish the unit properly, despite the fact they advertise as "Fully Furnished". Avoid East Bank Communities. If you choose to lease with them, read all binding documents carefully, and be prepared for the management. Update: another missing door handle. How many times does this need to happen before it gets fixed properly? I've never seen anybody with problems keeping a door handle attached. I called them right after the garage door shut on top of my vehicle, and they refused to pay the cost for residents to park elsewhere while repairs were made. The bed was provided after I had a discussion with the leasing manager about what good customer service means. Update: see image below, which shows the property manager's unwillingness to hear customer concerns.
