I was so impressed with this store. Most pet stores do not have even close to adequate sized enclosures for the animals or the correct knowledge for care. The guinea pigs and chinchillas have very big accommodations and big piles of hay to burrow in. They also sell critter cages that are 8 to 10.5 square feet instead of the tiny ones most pet stores carry. Prices were far better than any other pet store I've been in.

The fish department is a delight. Eric and Rinata are great. They are friendly and knowledgeable and always helpful. It's been a pleasure dealing with them all these years.

We go in there once a week because we are aquarium enthusiasts and we spend a lot of money there and love the fish options. We have never had any issues with any of the fish we two gotten from there. The only reason for the three stars is because of the employees.. everyone seems so annoyed to be working there. Especially the tall skinny guy who works the aquatics department. It gives me so much anxiety going there because that’s the main reason we go and each time he’s there, it just seems like we bother him. Now reading the reviews, I see that’s his personality.. but he is working customer service after all and unfortunately he doesn’t do that at all. :/ it’s unfortunate because he is very knowledgeable but you know he’s a terrible employee when he has multiple posts made about him on public local groups.. definitely not a good look for the store.

Just recently we decided to add some fish to our family. We went into Northwest Seed & Pet without any knowledge about what we needed first other than the tank itself. I have to say if it weren't for Michael and his helpful advice our fish would have went belly up over night. He advised us to acclimate our water, (which took us 2 weeks) helped us pick the perfect tank & although we wanted to walk out with fish that same day we listened. We came back with outstanding water from our tank so it was perfectly habitable. Michael gave tips on which fish get along with which so we have friendly pets. Directed us to which foods we would need for our new members, showed us how to clean our tank, made sure we had enough gravel & that some other decorative pieces were a right fit. He went above & beyond. He's definitely a man who takes pride in his work, my husband & I were so impressed! We thanked him and left as happy customers. I decided to call on our way home to get his name. I hope he's recognized more for his enthusiasm for fish. He's an incredible employee in our opinion.

Most of the time it should not be a problem. We have customers come in all the time with there dogs, cats, birds, lizards, etc. But please take into consideration if the pet in in good health. And of course at the time of visit, if the sales associates notice any danger to other customer or themselves they may ask you to remove the pet from the store.
Current price range on our hamsters are from $4.99 to $19.99.
Yes we were open on Sunday. Here is the webpage that shows our hours and holidays that we are closed. https://nwseed.com/hours/
Call the Pet Dept and have them put you on a wishlist. When a pair comes in, they will call you. You will need to make sure you check in every few months if its a long wait so that they are aware you're still looking.
Yes we do....if we are in the need of them. You need to call first at either or both stores to see if our Pet Department is currently accepting and has room.
Not yet but supposedly it is on its way. Hopefully we will have it in the next few day
Sorry we currently (6-7-2021) do not have any in stock. Thank you for your inquiry.
And no kids posing for pictures on the bear. . . or the gorilla.
Currently we are not bringing in or selling most live pets like puppies or kittens, etc. When we get to at least phase 3 this may allow us to provide more animals for sale. Under the Washington State Social Distancing Guidelines having pets in the Pet Room does not allow us to maintain required distancing with customers. Cute Animals can cause customers to gather too closely. Keep an eye on our posts, as we get back to offering pets we will more than likely post about them on our Facebook page.
This would depend upon the type of animal. Most of our pets come from local “breeders”. These are from people that are not in the business of breeding animals but may have had pets that reproduced, and they now have more animals than they want. Most of these animals are dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Rats, mice, and other small rodents are mostly from local breeders but, may also come from our own breeding in house, or from a northwest breeder on the coast. Ferrets come from Marshall Ferrets, and are young, and of the best quality. Chicks are from a hatchery in New Mexico. Reptiles are often locally bred, but may also come from wholesalers.
Currently we do not have any love birds. Thank you for your question.
No puppies available yet.
Yes
Sorry, but currently we not. Best bet is ordering them off the internet (google it) Thank you for your inquiry though. Have a great day.
Currently we do not have any axolotls. We hope to be getting them back in stock, but currently none of our suppliers has any for us to order. Keep checking with our aquatics departments at either store, and hopefully we will get them in again.
Yes. Careful if you get a female though. Ours was pregnant and we were not ready
Northwest Seed & Pet only ask that before you bring them in that they are in good health and that they are current on all vaccinations, so as not to pass on anything to puppies if we have any currently in stock. We also ask that you consider your dogs temperament. If the dog has any aggressive tendancies, we would advise not to bring the dog into our stores. (unless there are adverse weather condition and the dog is already with you - Please do not leave an animal/pet in a car that is to hot or cold). Also make sure that they have had the opportunity to take care of any bathroom needs before they come in.
Yes and many other choices. I've tried many and my dog's, so far love them all. Thanks for asking... Judy
Depends on what kind of fish. I'm guessing it is fresh water? Either contact them by phone or go to the Sprague store
The Google Community is getting very good at answering questions. Good job. We would add, that it is best to call as the inventory on what we currently have changes daily and can be different between the stores.
We do sell birds. They start at $20 and go up to several hundreds and more, Depending on the type of bird you are looking for. If you are looking for something specific we would suggest visiting or calling and asking for the Pet Department (509-534-0694 for the Sprague store or 509-484-7387 for the Division store)
Currently here at the sprague store we do not have any cockatiels.
Here at the Sprague store we are currently out, but should be getting some within the next month.
Our nursery personnel tell me that this is plant that we normally do not carry until around May.
Sorry But currently we do not carry Beaver Dam Pepper Seeds.
I just popped my head into the pet room and it appears that we have 4 different varieties in stock. Come on in to see what we have, or call our store (509-534-0694) and ask for the pet department and they can give you specifics on what we have.
Currently here at the Sprague store we are not planning on carrying them. We may still re-home them to new owners, if a previous owner no longer has the ability to take care of one they have. https://www.mnn.com/family/pets/stories/pet-hedgehogs-are-a-prickly-issue-for-some-states
Currently here at the Sprague store, we 2 adults. A local breeder had contacted us last week about possibly selling us some babies, but we have not heard back from them currently. If you have further questions please contact us at 509-534-0695 and ask for the pet Dept.. They will have the most current info, and be able to answer questions about specifics of the adults we currently have.
Currently we do have Aloe Vera plants here at the Sprague store in the greenhouse. 2 different sizes $4.99 and $6.99. thank you for your inquiry.
Yes, we currently do have some Bonsai available for sale here at the Sprague and Altamont Store.
Currently here at the Sprague store we do not have any babys. Just one adult female.
Sorry but we do not currently sell Sugar Gliders at our stores. Thank you for your inquiry.
If they dont have it in stock they should be able to point you in the right direction. They are all very friendly!
Certainly, but I would call ahead and ask if they have them in stock.
Checked with the nursery at both stores and they tell me that they do not have a Yellow Grape Tomato, but the Division store mentioned they have a Yellow Pear Tomato.
Howdie. I know years ago they did. We bought one. I would say yes, but you might be better if you call them first. Toodles
Just so you know, NW Seed doesn't answer these questions themselves really. They are answered by normal customers. And yes, I believe they do, but I'm not COMPLETELY sure. Best to call them to find out. Toodles.
They do have a python or two at the Sprague store. Not sure what the details are though.
