♻️ Best and one of the only places in Oregon as SW Washington that accepts and recycles polystyrene foam and styrene. It is the #6 on the recycling symbol. They will take almost any amount, and they are open 24hrs a day.

This company is great. It is easy to drop off and they have an easy chart explaining what they accept for recycling. It's nice not throwing away the packing styrofoam from deliveries. I hope they stay around forever!

Love that this company recycles number 6 plastic! I save up all of my styrofoam and other small #6 plastic to-go (cleaned & dried) containers to bring here in a larger load. The signs in the parking lot are easy to see during the day and direct you right to the public dropoff area. The area was very clean and tidy considering it's a recycling area and those often get misused or dirty. Very impressed and will return again!

It is not up to them to put bins where it is convenient for you. Save them up until you are going through Tigard and then drop it all off at once. Work with your neighbors if you don't own a vehicle and do a neighborhood drop off. It isn't that difficult to find a solution.
Yes, they do. The bins are available 24/7 so you can go when it is convenient for your schedule. Just make sure it is clean Styrofoam.
Dear Mark, No, the Tigard plant is only converting polystyrene plastic at this time.
Agilyx only accepts #6 plastics, NOT #1. Styrofoam is a #6 polystyrene as well. I hope that helps!!
Unfortunately, that type of foam contains flame retardants and can not currently be processed at this facility.
If they are rigid, so that they break, you can assume they're PS. If they are soft and flexible, such as some packing pads, they are not PS.
The bins are outside their building and there isn't a gate keeping you off the property at night. I spoke with someone on the phone and she mentioned I could drop off a whole Honda Pilot filled to the brim with Styrofoam at any time.
Linda, No, that is not a polystyrene foam so we can't accept it here. Our Facebook page has a flyer in the photos section that give examples!
Not that I'm aware of
Dear Ron, No, the Tigard plant is only converting polystyrene plastic at this time. If it has a #6 we can take it!
Nancy, If it is a #6 polystyrene container, we can recycle it here. Drop boxes are open 24 hours/day at 13240 SW Wall Street in Tigard. Other drop off locations are listed on our Facebook page, in Services.
We accept plastics marked as #6. This can be expanded into foam, such as coffee cups, meat trays, and packaging, or molded. Check out our flyer with examples on our Facebook page!
Yes, they take stryofom peanuts.
The plastic bin you saw is for plastic, clam shell shaped take out boxes. Plastic to-go containers with #6 recycling ♻️ symbols go in that bin.
Only number 6 plastics.
Dear Anthony, No, we do not export plastics.
Dear Ing, All of the info you received was correct! Some clamshells are #1, some are #5 and others are #6. The ones marked with the 6 can be recycled here.
You may but it is mainly for recycling
We accept #6 only. You can stop by our drop bin today.
We are closed to the public but you cann still drop off on saturdays
If you squish and release it, and it goes back to it's original shape. Agilyx doesn't recycle it. If you try to bend it and it breaks, that's the stuff they take!
They recently added a dumpster for other regular recycling, but they don't process the cardboard. It gets picked up.
I can tell you that right now, the plastics market is rough. I work for a recycler, and the fact that Agilyx is taking #6 is a miracle. We are literally landfilling all other chemistries right now because of the issues with the Chinese markets no longer importing combined with the lack of reuse potential due to a good number of factors. Sorry to say, but there isn't anything to be done currently.
Your local grocery store will most likely have a bin by their front doors that accept clean plastic bags. Qfc, Winco and Freddie's all have them at the stores I go to.
We accept all #6 recyclables
