Update 06/12/2022 My original review was true at the time that I wrote it, but the quality of care and customer service has plummeted. It's now difficult to get an appointment and once you do it's substandard care. I have used Banfield for almost 20 years and had Wellness plans for all my pets. But at this point, even after second chances I feel strongly that this business should be avoided. This pet hospital has always taken excellent care of my pets.

Fantastic staff!! Treats my pets as their own!! Everyone I have interacted with has been great, but hands down Dr. Hall is amazing!

I don’t know about anybody else and what their experience has been. But, I can never get an appointment when my dog is sick. Three times I have tried to get in and end up going to Blue Pearl. They never have availability for a sick animal. What they really need to promote is being a wellness only veterinarian. I don’t understand why they won’t hire another doc for sick visits only. Because I always hear the vet is in surgery or whatever. I used another local vet for my last 2 dogs and never had to wait if they were sick. If the animal needed to be seen they were worked in. When signing up, it should be thoroughly explained that you are paying for well visits and medication only and not availability when your pet is sick. I have found the vet and staff to be wonderful when I can be seen. If your animal is sick, take it elsewhere. This is a wellness center only.

How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?

It's a good program. My 🐕 dog has used it many times. Just the teeth cleaning pays for itself. While she was in to get her teeth cleaned, they saw she had an ear infection too. I would have never noticed it on my own.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 17, 2020
Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 17, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).

This is an odd way to go about finding out. You may be better off calling them and asking. If they don't, the SPCA and Humane society surely do, though.
