Positive: Staff. Desk attendant at check in was perfect. All staff we met were so pleasant at all hours of the day. Location was also perfect, breakfast buffet was best yet in a moderate range hotel and room was so nice and clean and larger than expected. Negative: NO!

I really enjoyed my 2 day stay. It was across the street from all these great little stores and wonderful access to restaurants. The aquarium was right down the road. They gave you a breakfast in the morning that you take back to your room. It was good, hit the spot. The room was great. Comfortable bed and little sitting area.

Stayed two nights on a weekend in the off season. Price was still over $200 a night but I honestly think it’s worth it. Location is amazing. Walking distance to both the shops at the old mystic village, the aquarium, and a bunch of places to eat and snack. Old mystic is less than 5 min by car and is such a pretty place. The room was spacious, clean, updated, and comfortable. A/C was super powerful and kept our room cold (my wife loves it like an icebox even in the winter). We had a couch in addition to a work station, and a chair with a small table and two rolling ottomans. The TV was big for a hotel, and was on a swivel wall mount so we could watch from bed and the couch. Small kitchenette area had a microwave, mini-fridge, and kierug coffee maker. There was coffee, tea and hot chocolate available in the lobby 24/7. We didn’t use the pool or gym but saw many enjoying it. Front desk attendant always asked how we were, how our day was, and if we needed anything. Lobby was updated, clean, and had many places to sit if you just wanted to relax. Overall, we’d stay again if visiting the area for sure.

While the check in was quick and smooth, we've been told that there's only a grab-and-go breakfast, as IHG has not provided separators. Also, there are no vegetarian options and only meat. The hotel website clearly mentions that hot breakfast is available and that's the reason we booked this in the first place. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway will now mean that we shall have to look for breakfast every morning. We have a 3 night stay here :( Very very disappointed! Lesson - Kindly call and check with IHG hotels if they serve breakfast before booking, despite what it says on the website. You just can't trust them.
