Holiday Inn Express & Suites Meriden, an IHG Hotel

We stayed for two nights and advised the front desk to get the room cleaned for the second night . But when we came back it was not cleaned at all . Existing towels were simply folded and kept for our use even though they were still wet . Did not refill toiletries , coffee etc . And floor was left the way it was . Wonder what they cleaned or did they clean at all ? Breakfast was ok , standard for any holiday inn express but disappointed with room cleaning for the second night .

We got the 2 queen bed suite that had the living room set up on the other side of a wall so it was separated and it was a really nice room. Only downside to our room is it had no view since the windows were behind the area where you park to check in but that view would’ve just been of the parking lot anyways. The room was clean and they let us check out late and we were able to check in early using the IHG app and all we had to do was show our ID and we got the keys. Only small complaint I would make was the water for the shower was not as hot as we usually like it to be. It was hot enough to where taking a shower was fine but definitely wasn’t controllable enough to where if you want it hotter than 90 degrees you couldn’t get that. I would definitely stay back here again though and the hotel was not far from an area where if you needed to U turn you could. Pool was great as well but we called for towels because they were all out at the pool area and we never got them. But service was still great and helpful would definitely stay back again.

6/26/22 Was a little disappointed that the pool wasn't open even though on the website it said it was open. Breakfast sign said it opened at 6:30 and by 6:35 all the hot food was gone. Told the front desk and she said it would be at least 7 until the breakfast attendant would be in to replenish the items. At 7:20 we left. There was plenty of muffins, breads, yogurt and drinks to fill us up but no bacon, sausage or eggs.

Staff is very friendly. Foyer was nice/new. Breakfast was nice. No pool- not listed on the website- disappointed kids! Rooms need updating and deep cleaning! Had to move rooms due to broken pull out couch- 2nd room had a broken one too. No soaps in shower dispensers. Dirty tub, like dirt ring around it. Couches were filthy. Unfortunate because there is potential
