I just purchased a kitty and finally took him home. Jeanne made the process easy even though it wasn't and it took a long 4 months to finally bring mine home. I dont understand why the bad reviews. Her house is clean, you can instantly tell how much she loves her cats and that she is most definitely not breeding for money she does it because she absolutely loves doing it and that's what stood out to me.

Update: I just brought my second Maplewood baby home last night and he’s perfect. Very obvious that he was a member of the family and not just a money maker. He loves my dog and is great with my other cats. He loves people, very curious and playful, and just an all around sweet, happy little guy. He’s not shy, he loves attention, and his eyes and ears are clear. I’m still shocked at the negative reviews. Absolutely shocked at the negative reviews. I purchased my Bengal from Maplewood two years ago and he’s perfect. His vet always comments on how healthy he is when he goes in for his nail trims. It was so obvious that Thor was part of their family before I brought him home. He was shy for a day or two, and then he took right to me, my other cat, and especially my dog. He’s always been so friendly and so social, just like you would expect from a cat who was bred and raised in a home, as opposed to a “kitten mill.” I was provided with the promised paperwork, so I’m not sure what these people are talking about. I am literally on my way to Maplewood right now with my friend, who is about to put a deposit down on a kitten. Maplewood is fantastic.

I’ve dealt with Jeanne for quite some time now . I got my first Bangel , Link, roughly 6 years ago. He was such a unique sweet cat but unfortunately he was taken from me too soon.. He had a rare sickness that after numerous visits to different vets , no one could not be figure what was going on. Fast forward a few years I was in touch with Jeanne about another kitten. she paired me with a beautiful older kitten which I named Luigi . He just turned two the other day and is just as silly as I remember Link to be . I love this breed of cat. 👍

If I could give less than one star, I would, I'm essentially going to mirror another review on here as I had the same experience. I've also attached my conversation thread as proof of what kind of person you'll be dealing with if you purchase an animal here. As another reviewer mentioned, communication is piss poor, you won't get any photos when you inquire about a kitten. She won't let you see the litter, she brings them down from upstairs one by one. She tried to sell me a brother and sister together at a discounted price who were both visibly ill with green snot coming out of their nose. The house was very messy and unclean. I picked the most outgoing male kitten she brought down and paid $800 after signing the contract stating I would get purebred papers after presenting the certificate of spay/neuter. I took him to my local trusted vet right away as he was super sick. Upper respiratory infection, covered in fleas, diarrhea. This was in July of 2017. At first Jeanne was responsive to my concerns, assured me that all of this was normal since there's multiple cats in the house. As a new Bengal owner, I took her word for it. Turns out that was untrue as I have since gone to a reputable Bengal breeder and had a polar opposite positive experience and a healthy kitten. Once I got him neutered, I emailed her in October of 2017 with the certificate. In November, I followed up and she claimed her computer crashed and lost the sire's paperwork and was waiting on a replacement. I gave her time and followed up in January 2018, no reply. Called her in February 2018, no answer or reply. Requested again in March 2018 and she said she had family issues. Gave her more time again and asked in May 2018 to which I got a response saying she was "actively working on it". I asked for a copy of the sire's info at the very least. That's when she stopped replying all together. Do yourself a favor and get a Bengal elsewhere. Jeanne and her husband run a Bengal mill pumping out sick kittens and don't provide any proof of purebred papers. Please do not give them your business as the animals don't deserve to suffer for their greed. I'm thankful for the kitten I got because I know he has a good home with me, but I would NEVER recommend this "breeder" to anyone.

Questions & Answers

Wait a minute.I'm reading these reviews highly disturbed. Are people saying that she is forcing them to fix their cat where she does her business? What if I didn't want my cat fixed? And why can't you pick out your own cat?So glad I read this beforehand

First, she runs her cattery from her home. She is not a vet, so no. She does not force you to have your cat fixed at her vet either, my kitten was fixed by my own vet in CT. You sign a contract agreeing to fix your cat and not use it to breed, but she's not the police, if you don't fix your cat it's on you, the side effects of not fixing your cat are more detrimental to its health if you're not going to breed your cat. This is a standard contract that is used by most breeders, if you are not a registered breeder, they make you sign a contract stating that you won't use the kitten for breeding purposes, hence having them fixed. You are able to pick out your own cat, she sends you pictures and you can select a kitten from whatever cats are available at the time. Just because she didn't allow these people to go into the room where the kittens where doesn't mean they didn't select which kitten they wanted. Don't believe everything you read!
