My father was at The Springs-Wilsonville for several months. I found them to be unresponsive and even negligent in their care. We had to call 911 once because he had fallen and couldn't get up. His button wasn't working! (Don't they check these things?) He was IN CARE and there was no one to care! Thank goodness he had an Alexa that he could tell to call us! When we called in to get him assistance we couldn't get anyone either. They don't have 24hr reception and it's VERY difficult to reach someone after hours. We had to dispatch emergency services, to a care facility , to pick my dad up off the floor. Who knows how long he would have been there had we not had Alexa. Our calls of concern were never returned either. They simply ignored us. Imagine having your loved one in lock down and then not having contact with the caregivers? So stressful. This is what $10K/mo gets you? Robbery. I never felt like my dad was safe or cared for at the Springs-Wilsonville. Worst. place. ever.

Our experience at The Springs was quite disappointing. Mom moved in when it was still The Wilsonville and privately owned. Under that management, we found caregivers that stayed for years and really got to know and love residents and families. When the management changed and The Springs took over, the entire experience went decidedly downhill. The greatest disappointment was the constant turnover in staff. I visited Mom every week and yet felt that every time I arrived the staff was different and had no idea who I was. There is clearly very little ability to retain help and I felt the turnover made it impossible to connect with anyone who could consistently keep me posted when I had questions about Mom's care. Information flow was lacking and often there was no one at the front desk to even let me in to the memory care wing when I arrived. People were kind when Mom passed away, but I definitely would not choose this facility for a family member again. As an update, the owner responded to my review with a (seemingly) concerned offer to meet and talk further about our experience at The Springs. I responded to that email with a willingness to meet if he would truly like to do so, and I never heard from him again. Sort of says it all, doesn't it? Only when I updated my post with an additional negative comment did they once again pretend to have interest in my feedback. The pattern here is clear - they respond when they fear there are negative things being said, but they don't truly want feedback and don't truly want to improve. It's all a false show of concern combined with poor communication - exactly what we experienced there when Mom was alive. Please seek care for your loved one elsewhere.

Our experience with The Springs was also quite disappointing, mostly due to the staff turnover. My mom was there for 6 months and definitely declined while there; every time she got comfortable with staff and we felt they knew her, they were gone. I also felt (as did she) that no one truly cared about her, no one encouraged her or helped her find things to get involved with or to do much more than just sit in her apartment. Some of the aides were wonderful and caring, but they were very aware of their role/pecking order and seemed afraid of rocking the boat at all, so their impact was minimal. When my mom was hospitalized and "temporarily" gone for two months, never once did anyone call to inquire as to her health, and when she died we never once heard from them to express condolences, not even when we were there to pack up her belongings. That total indifference left me with a bad feeling, a simple card would have meant a lot! A lovely facility that promises a lot but doesn't seem to deliver....

Our father's guardian placed him in this facility against his wishes and his children's wishes. My father's mental and physical health has declined to the point his personal doctor is concerned in the 6 months my father has been at The Springs. He is a high-functioning dementia patient who can perform all the activities of daily living on his own with cues. There are no cues. My father has kept all his own teeth for 83 years but is now in danger of losing some because the dentist says he's not been brushing his teeth - because they don't remind him. He has body odor because they don't remind him to shower. My father receives no stimulation and sleeps 18 hours a day except for meals. He has hearing aids The Springs doesn't put in because it's too hard for them to keep track of all the hearing aids for everyone who has them. I would seriously avoid placing anyone you love here.
