My iPhone has been acting up for a few weeks dying really quickly and doing all sorts of weird things, I finally swung by The Fix Hut on my trip to Portland and they were able to quickly diagnose the battery issue and replace it in short order. Thanks for the quick and quality service on my iPhone, it’s like new again. I would definitely suggest this spot to anyone having iPhone battery problems.

I was in town visiting family and was able to swing by to get a new battery for my MacBook Air. The staff here was very knowledgeable, quick and very helpful. Their reasonable pricing and quick service made this a great weekend. Thanks for helping me out!! Highly recommend this repair shop.

I took my iPhone in for a screen replacement, staff was friendly and service was quick. A week later my phone fell from on top of my thigh(while I was sitting down) onto the carpet. The screen cracked and is no longer responsive whatsoever. I have had this phone for almost 3 years and in the past have dropped it many times, the only time the screen broke was when it was dropped on concrete(this is why I came to have it replaced). Either the glass they are using is very poor quality or what they used on my phone was faulty. Either way, I've wasted $175 and now my phone is worse off than before.

The guy that works there is great customer service. I had to go there today to get my phone diagnosed for my credit card insurance company, and he took great care of me. He can fix almost anything and it's actually cheaper than any other place I've ever been to.

Questions & Answers

Do you repair broken Ipad screens?

Absolutely! We carry most iPad screens in stock and all repairs come with a 6 month warranty.

Is it me or do these people don't care about their customers? Was dealing with the assistant manager and it was like talking to a wall. Maybe it was an off day or days because it was the same as before.

Everyone has off-days, but I'd recommend just sending an email letting them know how they could have done a better job. I'm a direct competitor and in my experience FixHut always does their best to get repairs done correctly and they have a strong warranty. If it's an ongoing thing I can guarantee that it's not something that they want to have happening. It's not your responsibility as a customer to help a business be better, but as a small business owner in Portland it's incredibly helpful to get feedback like this that can be attributed to a specific employee and repair. Most of us independent shops are drowning in repairs and fighting with manufacturers for quality parts and service documentation which would put anyone in a bad mood, but in the end it all comes down to customer service and knowing what didn't work is the only way to get better. I forwarded your comments over to the business owner incase you don't have time.

Approximately how much would it be for a cracked iPad screen?

Depending on the model of iPad the answer to your question is going to vary drastically. For some of the older models (2/3/4 + Air1) and a couple of the new models (5/6) there is a separate glass layer that can be removed and replaced. The part itself in that case is relatively inexpensive and you are mainly paying for the technician's expertise along with a strong warranty on the repair. For most newer models (Air2, Pro) that glass layer is adhered directly to the display panel. Although the two layers can be separated and refurbished in some cases this process is not really economical for most service providers and a full display assembly replacement would be quoted which is going to be more expensive. Since pricing is always fluctuating based on supply and demand for parts calling in and getting a quote is going to be your best option to find out what the pricing is currently.

Hi! I dropped my phone and it popped out of the case and now the screen is shattered. The display is all horizontal green lines with an occasional flash of normal display. It still turns off and on. Do you guys do quotes?

Employee of the store replying on my personal account here. Sounds like simply a damaged display and screen, what kind of device is it? Most of the quotes for common devices can be found on our website, thefixhut.com

Can they repair a fit bit?

Whenever there's a question as to repairability, especially when it's kind of an oddball like a FitBit I would recommend calling directly to get a quote. In many cases parts may be available one day and then not available the next depending on the parts market.
