My 3rd city/place and time going to Mellow Mushroom. This decor here was magical of the mirrors in the ceilings, lava lamp, a glow in the dark collage of Cher, John Travolta near the backrooms. The food was awesome and the service super fast. Plus the waiter was cute.

We had visited the Blacksburg location a few months before and loved it. So when we went back down for our daughters graduation from Virginia Tech our youngest daughter wanted to go again. It's rare that two or more locations ever have the same results, but in this case it may have been even better. The food was great as well as the beer. The place was clean and the staff was overly friendly! ...and if you're lucky, Austin gets excited about pizza. 🤣 I definitely hope we find a reason to go back in the future.

The service and food were super great. The server was very attentive and made sure our drinks stayed full. The pizza came out promptly and the bruschetta was amazingly delicious.

Usually we love Mellow pizza! We went a few months ago and had poor service but pizza was still good. We attributed it to the lack of staff everywhere. Then we decided to go again a couple nights ago as a special treat for my son. We walked in and were seated in no time. They were not busy at all and had plenty of help including 3+ people at the host stand alone. Then we waited for over 15 min for anyone to even say hello. We had multiple waiters/waitresses look at us as they slowly walked by to pick up a glass off of another table to clean. Then they would walk away. After considering leaving, we decided to stay anyway bc we really love the pizza. We had to ask the host if we had a waitress and he walked off in the middle of me asking to a waitress that had been looking at us. She was sweet but also said she didn't see us sitting there... We went ahead and ordered everything including BBQ pizza. When we received our pizza, we were given a BBQ pizza with bell peppers all over it... I said 'oh! It comes with peppers now?' She just said yea and went on. I didn't know they even had the 'backyard' BBQ pizza..I wish she would have asked which BBQ we wanted if there were more than one option. This one is definitely not as good in my opinion but others would like. Overall, the night was very disappointing. Especially because we took our son there as a special treat. The service used to be on point and everyone used to be much kinder than they have been recently. Not sure we'll be back.

I am sure you can
C'mon folks, this is a first pizza restaurant, and yes they primarily put parts of dead animals on sauce covered baked bread. Loads of cheese( oops, you can't have dairy; my bad!) and and yes, vegetables of your choice. You're headed to a really nice pizza joint, no disrespect to three sister co-owners! I was fortunate enough to have met one during one of my visits. This one was electric and darned proud I might add. After meeting Emory, I daresay all you birkinstock, tree hugging, beansprout eating individuals will be placated by the management within reason. If nothing else, my opinion based on only one sister is they want you to leave with a full belly and happy. Yep, if the sister I met is a representative of her sisters they will do their best to accommodate! Only thing left to is maybe "Ask" if the crust is "gluten free"!!! (oh yeah, really, who cares!) The eats are awesome, quit being picky, and enjoy your friends, the service, most of all food! Live dangerously!
I have heard from others their special dietary options are pretty good.
