Truly the best place in Seattle. Pre-order online the morning of and pick up or watch their insta stories for times when there’s no lines. The workers are always so lovely to interact with. Funfetti and the vanilla are THE best. Support your local cake shop 💖

I mean c’mon, it’s one of the greatest cake places around. I found myself a couple blocks away at the Connections Museum (go check it out)when I realized that a slice of cake heaven was just around the corner. While waiting in line, I was convinced I wanted the Chocolate Blackout, but as I ordered, we discussed the merits of the Blackberry Cream, since it’s summer only, I knew that was the one for me. Did not disappoint.

I looked forward to coming to this cake shop for about a month now; the first time I visited I was turned away because it wasn’t 12 o’clock for the walk up window option. I drove all the way from Black Diamond that day. My second attempt at visiting the cake shop was today with an extremely long line and a wait time of at least 30 minutes. A very unfriendly staff member at the walk up window shouted at me , “ I’m going to need you to step back behind the sign!” I ordered a slice of the London Fog cake because it is one of my favorite teas and I was looking forward to having this first time experience after staring at enticing photos on the business Instagram page that showcases thick layers of cake. First impression: loaded with frosting; where’s the cake? A faint taste of bergamot or is this a physiological effect of having the tea and knowing what it should taste like. Again loads of frosting and flat, dry cake. The frosting simply overkills any other flavors of this cake. Yikes, I tried to support another local business but for me it wasn’t worth the gas spent to get here. The rude customer service never adds to the experience.

First thing first: pre-order online or come early if you want a specific flavor, because they sell out fast! I stopped by one day around 1p, there was no line but two or three flavors were already gone. I was fortunate to get the last chocolate flavor slice and ate it later at home. I loved it, it's soft and moist and the sweetness is subtle. I am not a cake person so this is basically what I imagine as good as a cake goes.

This is gourmet cake, like nothing you've tasted, and thus worth the prices they charge....
Yes she has a Vegan Chocolate Raspberry and it's delectable.
Call them on Thursday. They do require 7 days advance for whole cakes, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Keep in mind for next time that holidays are really busy for any establishment, and a lot of places are on very limited staffing, especially due to the pandemic. Good luck! https://www.deepseasugarandsalt.com/holidaymenu
Sometimes we've gotten flour less, and occasionally vegan, but I cannot remember ever having a gluten and dairy free desert from them.
