I served in the Army and when i got out i was told things were going to be pretty cut and dry with the VA but oh that was a far cry from the truth. I have had a helluva time trying ro get my disability claim going and they have just been giving me the run around.

Hello Mark, In order to discuss payment options for your ODVA Home Loan, please contact customer service by either phone or email: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Home-Loans/Pages/Contact.aspx
Here is the contact page. https://www.oregon.gov/ODVA/Connect/Pages/Connect.aspx Email or give them a call. They have good people, they can assist you in one way or another.
Bob, There are two avenues, state and federal. Oregon has a Service Disabled Veteran (SDV) certification which is for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses seeking opportunities for state, county and city government and special jurisdiction (e.g., hospitals and universities) contracts. More info: http://www.oregon4biz.com/How-We-Can-Help/COBID/SDV/ On the federal level, if you have a Veteran-Owned Small Business, you may qualify for advantages when bidding on government contracts—along with access to other resources and support—through the Vets First Verification Program. More info: https://www.va.gov/careers-employment/veteran-owned-business-support/
Eleonore, thank you for your question. The best place to contact for concerns regarding license plates would be the Oregon Dept. of Transportation (ODOT), as that is the agency who manages license plates and IDs including those with veteran designations. You can contact them online or by phone here: https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/contact_us.aspx
Todd, here is more information on how to get a veterans ID card: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Benefits/Pages/Veteran-IDs.aspx
Ramona - here is the latest information on where veterans can get no-cost flu shots: https://www.blogs.va.gov/VAntage/41156/va-walgreens-team-fight-influenza/
Tim: visit https://www.oregon.gov/ODVA/Connect/Pages/Public-Records-Request.aspx to see how to request your DD-214 from the ODVA (if we have it) or the National Personnel Records Center.
Calvin, if you have a home loan through ODVA you are welcome to contact them directly to discuss your loan: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Home-Loans/Pages/Contact.aspx. We are a separate and distinct organization from the federal VA and are not able to discuss individual situations nor provide legal advice.
Janette, thank you for your interest in donating! I encourage you to contact the Oregon Veterans' Homes to see if they are interested. One is located in The Dalles and the other is in Lebanon. Contact information can be found here: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Vets-Homes/Pages/default.aspx
Mark, we encourage you to go to your county's Veterans Service Office for specific answers. You can find one here: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Services/Pages/County-Services.aspx
Jonny, welcome back to the states! You can find a list of services available in Deschutes County here: https://www.oregon.gov/ODVA/Services/Pages/Counties/Deschutes.aspx. I encourage you to contact a Veteran Service Officer to discuss the logistics of your return.
Tom, WorkSource Oregon runs a list of hiring fairs including veteran-oriented ones here: https://www.oregon.gov/EMPLOY/jobseekers/Pages/Job-Fairs-and-Events.aspx ODVA publishes information about employment opportunities and Stand Downs/hiring fairs as we are made aware of them. You can find out more and subscribe to updates here: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Benefits/Pages/Employment.aspx
Linda, here are some options for your husband: - Veteran ID card: An Oregon veteran can get a veteran designation on an Oregon driver license or identification card through the DMV. More info here: https://www.oregon.gov/odva/Benefits/Pages/Veteran-IDs.aspx#IDs - Copies of discharge records: Veterans in Oregon may have elected to send ODVA a copy of their discharge records, in which case it can be requested from us. If the record is not with ODVA, then the discharge record may need to be ordered directly from the National Personnel Records Center. Both methods are described here: https://www.oregon.gov/ODVA/Connect/Pages/Public-Records-Request.aspx
