Hotel Dewey

Hotel Dewey is the former Sea Esta III. The new management is making great strides in the improvement and updating program. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor..They were refurbished and clean. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located one block from the beach, and close to restaurants in the developing town of Dewey Beach, Delaware. The 11:00 AM check out time is a big plus--our last morning was not a big rush to get out.

If you want a decent hotel STOP!!! DONT GO HERE. Ok let's start with when I first open the door I notice flys everywhere, so I can get pass that maybe the cleaning lady left the backdoor open while cleaning. Then theirs a constant leak in front of the little fridge. I put tiles in front thinking it was something minor but nope it leaked the entire stay. Then there's was the broken toilet seat. Be careful you might fall of the toilet and hurt something. And the straw that broke the camels back was when we went to take a shower the shower head and shower knobs was caked with mold!!! Now I am very simple. I'm not the uppity type but what I can't do is nastiness. I don't what type of inspection they are doing as far as what's working in the room or what's damaged but you got to keep the room and bathrooms CLEANED. Also why is there no outlets by the beds? Just a question from a person who will never bring my business back.

Positive: Staff, location, pet friendly Negative: The bed was hard, the room was very dated although repainted recently.

Having an elevator was great. However, there appeared to be mold on the ceiling and when I took the toilet cover off because it kept running--it was gross. I have allergies and one is mold. Also there didn't appear to be sprinklers in case of fire. Office staff were nice and friendly except for one young woman. I tried to engage her in conversation and asked if the hotel was fully booked for the weekend and she said yes. The vacancy sign was on all weekend.
