They expected us to wait outside in 85 degree heat in the full sun with no place to sit. What a waste of time that 25 mile drive to Olympia was, we had to go back home. No way my disabled child could stand around in that heat. How can an agency that deals mostly with disabled and elderly people be so thoughtless?

If you have to call be prepared to wait hours and I mean HOURS, currently writing this while on hold. It's 1017 and I started this call at 0800, in past experiences the hold can be 5+hrs, rarely will it be less than 1hr and you can experience them answering and immediately hanging up. You may also get the curious busy signal, answering only to be placed on hold for a longer period of time, being immediately transferred to another random staff before you can finish telling the one that answers what you actually are calling for. Staff will inform you that the messaging service they have when you use their extensions does not work and they can't access the messages so they're not getting any updated information on your case and they don't go out of their way to contact you to inquire either. They will close your case without communication about it even if you called the provided numbers and extensions and left the requested information on them as directed to, they can't access them and know it. Best to do in person everything with this location. It's extremely poorly run and the staff seem to be miserable with how they engage with you. Miserable experience all the way around.

I've had numerous experiences with this location where I've have a question about filling out forms online and when I try to call the office I'll be put on hold for an extended amount of time and then I get hung up on. Each time I call it is during business hours so getting hung up on repeatedly is extremely frustrating.

This was the only office willing to help me within a 25 mile radius for a time sensitive case. Although not open to the public, I shared my concern of how my employment gave me 8 days to work with a field office to ensure my name change was true and I also shared the concern of mailing in original copies but they reassured me. Only thing that bothered me was when I called to get an update on if my forms were received after a few days, the person who answered was not helpful, was not very courteous or patient in trying to hear my reason for calling. Besides that call, this office helped close my case within 6 days and updating my name change.

The replacement form can be downloaded from ssa.gov, or can be obtained from the social security office.
Cannot find it in my account on line...
The birth certificate is fine to prove citizenship, but to prove identity you require one of the following: U.S. driver's license; State-issued non-driver identification card; or U.S. passport Employee identification card; School identification card; Health insurance card (not a Medicare card); or U.S. military identification card If you have passport, it's a one-all-end-all ID for what you need.
Go to the social security office
Yes, SSDI is Social security disability. This does not have a age restriction. All SSDI and SSA business is taken care of at the Social security office. They are really nice at this particular office and are very good about explaining things. Hope this helps a little.
Yes you can
You have to go in and see a Rep
If you are on ssd you are on medicare or medicaid which are better programs than obama care. Mine have always been automatic.
Yes, walked in yesterday. They have a limit of 5 people so you may have to wait outside.
Walk ins!!! Praise God
Currently open to walk-ins. Occupancy restrictions are in effect inside the building. Bad-timing can warrant a wait.
Best to call their number!
We stopped by yesterday during regular business hours and the security guard let us walk in to drop paperwork off in the box. I didn't see like a mail slot in the door to drop it though
Yes. If you don't intend to mail/drop off your SS-5 application with the appropriate certified documents (proof of identity).
There gonna tell you to do it online or make appointment something like that due to COVID-19 so annoying
Not sure I just know I put my newiest address for mailing on the application and it came to that address
Not sure I know my grandma did but they got married when they where 18 and they both retired I would just call and ask
They have a number posted on the door. However, when I called I was told the appointments where only for immigrates and citizens had to complete their task online or via snail mail.
That"s right. Got all my ID taken several times. Had to start at DSHS with EBT. While there, get a printout of ID Verification from them. But one has to get ID from DOL before Social Security Card.
Yes, I usually show up at 8:30 and there is often times already a line starting. Best to get there as early as you can to just get it done.
Yeah, I had this same problem. I just had to go in and go to the kiosk and make an appointment there. Good luck.
I believe that is a separate from ssi/ ssdi
Not at the moment. That service is not yet available. Currently, the only ways to make an appointment is via the 1-800 number and setting one in-office with a representative.
Yes. Interpreter is available by request. Interpreters will be provided upon request
Definitely need 2 forms of I.D. that are valid.
Have a picture I.d ready
I believe that it might. If you show that you are capable of working they may deny your claim. I would air on the side of caution and not work. If you have to, I'd contact your supervisor and ask that they provide accommodations for you so that you don't have same duties as before. I do agree though, contacting someone maybe best.
No they don't take birth certificates anymore for it you have to have either a valid permanent ID (drivers permits and temps don't work) or you can get a paper from the doctors what has you full name and birthday, current school ID works as Well as long as you are enrolled right now
Ask for a 1099 for taxes
No
It appears you can make changes online, otherwise see an agent.
If you have a "MySSA" account you can print it yourself
I think so, I never have
When you check in at the kiosk, select "benefits verification letter" when prompted for reason for visit.
This office opens at 9 o'clock everday.
Usual review length is 3 years, unless you have a declaration of permenant disability. I went 6 yrs once without a review, though, so it depends.
Any charges will be so stated online i think. The charges can differ person to person.
Mon tues thur fri they are open 9am -4pm We'd 9am - noon As long as you are in the office before the door is locked the staff help you
Many factors in this. You could retire and both of u collect ss. There is a max income allowed if you are disabled which would only allow use of 1. They can stack if someone passes away, to a max that im unsure of. You can make an account online and itll help u do the math to see wi ch would get u more
Reduces your $ stockpile and lowers end of age payouts.
I want to change my address
Onli e or at ss office.
