San Diego's very own volcano! Or at least what used to be a volcano. Great trails for hiking and mountain biking, with lots of options for where to start, as well as difficulty level. I can do advanced mountain biking on my own, or cruise the easy trails with my family. Most of the trails are in great shape, but it could use some erosion control in places, especially on the hiking trails up to the top of the caldera.

Place is very nice. Great trails, one is paved so anyone can walk it. The clavera trail is a bit steep so be aware of bringing young children or clumsy spouses.

Beautiful hiking trails. You have a varity of paths that you can choose from depending on the level of difficulty that you are feeling for that day.

Biking is fine except on the Carlsbad Highlands Ecological Reserve where hiking is only allowed. I parked at Oak Riparian Park and rode out from there
