Love this rink! I drive 25 minutes just to skate here. I take their group lessons for adult skaters on Saturdays and try to make it to the adult session on Tuesday evenings. I would recommend avoiding the Saturday free skate as it is always super crowded and can be hard to practice skills since there are so many kids and just lots of people in general. Besides that, this is a great place to learn with awesome instructors! My only wish is that they would resurface the rink. There are spots around the edges that are losing ice and are uneven which have caught me off guard a couple of times. Overall, worth the 25 minute drive!

3/12/2022 Update Still very happy skating here. VERY crowded on Saturday for the public skate session, but that's to be expected. Huge regulation size rink. Plenty of employees to supervise and to handle skate rentals. People were actually WEARING THEIR FACE MASKS. This is the 4th place that I have skates with my 7 year old daughter during this winter break 2021 and it is by far the BEST.

Great place, nice smooth ice. Sometimes it gets very crowded but if you have time to go there during their morning sessions there will be only few people. Craziest session is on Saturday there is almost no place to skate.

SDIA has not only public skate, but an extensive figure and hockey program. They also host birthday and other events.
Yes doors in front are usually always open you can walk in and spectate any game.
Fair prices there at SAN DIEGO ICE ARENA Great place for figure skating and hockey...call and make an appointment so you can meet a coach or 2 the people in the office are well spoken and nice.. they'll lead you in the right direction...
