Some sites are very small while some are spacious to fit 3 tents easily… The one I booked (C 75) could only fit one tent and I had to squeeze my 1p tent right next to the fire ring and thus couldn’t enjoy a campfire. The website says max 3 tents though…

This national park campground has paved sites except for tent walkins and they are fairly spacious with a picnic table and a fire ring. Most sites looked fairly level. No hookups but potable water available. Restrooms, no showers and a dump station. Nicely located to get to most areas of the park. A few hiking trails to take from campground.

After going to quite a few campgrounds, I really loved this one. By standards of a national park campground, the sites were very spacious and didn’t feel like everyone was on top of each other. You can hear the creek roaring from your site and the forest is so lush with ferns and dense tree cover. Little walking trails connect to the campground as well so you can go for a nice stroll while relaxing in the evening.

Great spot, $24/night. Bear boxes on each site. Clean bathrooms and drinking water available. But no grey water area for dishwashing, people seem to use the drinking water which makes it a lil messy

The main campgrounds such as the Newhalem and Upper Goodall sites will be closed for the season. The Lower Goodall and the Gorge Lake campground located near the SCL Diablo community will also be open. Both those sites are smaller sites and do not have a lot of spaces available. Newhalem is near Hwy 20 MM 120 and Gorge is up a road North of Hwy 20 MM 126.
There is a large group area located in section D. This area would be just what you need. The number of sites available are limited. You will definitely need to plan ahead.
There are no web cameras. National Park Service website would be your best source of information regarding their campgrounds and parks. Currently elevations around Newhalem, WA. are clear of snow and Spring weather has arrived.
There are also several locals selling firewood along the road in the last 20 miles or so. Typically you get a little more wood and it's better quality.
A 15 minute drive will get you to the Ross Lake area where Diablo Lake and others are. Great opportunities for kayaking.
There are both reserved and first come, first serve
Next to the ranger station.
There is a swimming hole nearby. It's about a mile back towards Marblemount off hwy. 20. An abandoned gravel pit that is fed by a creek and empties into the river. The folks at the General Store in Newhalem may give you directions. The Parks people are probably not aware of it.
I only saw them at the walk in sites. We did not have a bear box at ours. So we had to lock everything in the car every time we went anywhere.
I believe so the camp host had a 5th wheel trailer there
