The tea and mooncake were delicious. The weather was absolutely perfect. Great way to spend a day.

This is a beautiful Chinese garden with lots of attention given to detail. They often hold festivals for the Chinese New Year and offer lots of educational opportunities for both children and adults. Inside you will also find a tea house which offers traditional Chinese teas, and a gift shop with various items. Did you have membership options if you plan on going more than once, these memberships allow you other privileges that day members do not get. There is a beautiful lake in the center of the tea garden that is surrounded by wonderful water features and a waterfall. There is a lot of attention to detail throughout and beautiful flowers and foliage. This is a great place for both children and adults. The only current downside is its location. Currently old town / Chinatown is going through a rough time which makes the neighborhood a little bit sketchy in parts. Additionally, parking can be at a minimum depending on the time of year. Mass transit is a good opportunity here which drops off right next to the Chinese garden.

Lovely. A lovely little tea house in the Lan Su Chinese Garden in the Chinatown district of Portland. A nice menu of food and beverage options for such a small space. Indoor and outdoor seating is available in addition to the second floor of the traditional Chinese styled building. Service was polite and attentive and quiet, which matched the serenity of the location. I think my favorite thing was the sun coming in the window while we had our tea.

A small tea house inside the Lan Su Chinese garden that serves vegetarian snacks like vegetable steamed buns, egg rolls, etc and many different varieties of tea. The prices are low but sometimes the service is a bit slow. The patio overlooks part of the garden’s waters and is a very peaceful and beautiful place to enjoy your tea and snacks.

Per Multnomah County recommendations, updated September 27: Masks are required throughout the garden whether vaccinated or not. Masks are not required while actively eating or drinking. The Teahouse limits indoor and outdoor seating and follows other covid-safe practices. When I was there recently they provided sanitizer and cleaned surfaces between guests. Contact the ticket office at the door or before your trip as the state guidelines change often.
No. Lan Su is in down town Portland. Forestry Center is up in the West Hills.
