Had a very sick bird with seizures. They gave me medication to give to my bird. Did that for a week, but he got worse all of a sudden. The most hardest weekend spent with my bird. Took him back and she wanted to try another med. We said that we can not do that to him if this one is not going to help. The vet was very understanding and said seizure are hard to treat in a bird. She agreed to put him asleep. They where very kind. I would take another on my birds to them.

I take my cockatiel here for regular care and they were able to get my cockatiel in for an emergency the same day and resolve his issue. It is well equipped and I trust the team's knowledge. They were able to cure my cockatiel of his sickness and also were very professional and understanding. I drive all the way from Corvallis to take him here. This place is awesome!

If ever there was a place that creates miracles, this is it. I was moving across country to the Portland, Oregon area and I could tell my 20 year old cockatiel was going down hill about half way here. I called Avian Medical Center and even though I wasn't an existing patient, they understood how serious this was from my observations and they squeezed him in earlier than normal. That was the first time they saved his life. He had a hernia and had developed an infection because food wasn't cleanly passing out of his body. They put him on antibiotics to get him healthy before surgery. Long story short he had a couple of challenges because of a good sized bulge that had formed in his intestine where it had pushed itself out through a tear in his abdominal muscle. Shortly after his hernia surgery and while still at the hospital, he prolapsed that bulge. Seriously, Dr. Lintner had to explain it to me twice as I had trouble visualizing that part of his intestine was now hanging out of his butt. I thought for sure this meant I would lose him -- but they managed to fix that, too, and they saved him a second time! No surprise that I made numerous trips back and forth to their center for Mr. Bert Bird's visits, and I heard as many other incredible miracle stories from the other bird owners who were there. I think they should change their name from the Avian Medical Center to the Avian Miracle Center.

Month and a half wait time, on a day before appointment rescheduled for another day. At appointment I asked for a doctor to see me before anything was done. Another tech came out and listened to my concerns and told me he's not a doctor. I said what's the point of explaining all to him, can I please see the doctor. Doctor came out and told me I was rude and didn't want to look at my bird. Terrible service and that's not my first time here never was too happy with them. Never coming back!

I can't see them turning away any birds, they are a incredible resource, clinic. In the past I've taken native birds to Dove Lewis for treatment, they were all in.

We just got a cockatiel and he is not hand tamed. I would like to have a health check done to make sure he is healthy. What’s the best way to bring him in?

Get a pet carrier or a travel cage. Use a towel to pick him up if needed by draping it over his back and head then gently pick him up with hands over the back and wings.
