Usually nice mowed paths for hiking but today it has not been mowed in weeks or over a month. Trails had grass up to my thighs and hard to follow the paths. Not sure how often they mow but it was never that high when I went last year

I love hiking here but be aware that parts of the trail are extremely muddy and wet especially near the parking area. Wear good boots and check for ticks.

This is a beautiful spot with a gorgeous forest full of old growth trees. There's also excellent views down into the valley and into the city of Syracuse. This park is best enjoyed in the Spring before everything becomes overgrown - then it gets difficult to get through the fields and into the woods which are a bit of a walk (about a mile up to the woods). Great place to get away from it all even though you're surrounded by the town you'd hardly realize it.
