It’s a place to shoot your guns enough said.. yea sure they don’t want you rapid firing or drawing from your holster like Dirty Harry but it’s at least a safe environment to shoot.. I have alternate facilities if I want to ball out

Got my membership few weeks ago finally went there today the staff was decent, my issue is that they do not accommodate any modern shooters. You can’t shoot more than one round per second. No draw-to-shoot. No quick target. Basically no practicing anything other than sighting in your gun that’s about all this range is good for and they mainly only accommodate retirees. I would not recommend this range to any experienced shooter looking to fine tune their skills comfortably.

Today’s experience at SRC was the end for me. Nice place, great setting. I don’t care about the coffee drinking good ‘ol boys and there are always plenty of them. I’m a new member but have been shooting for 50 years. I’m always safe and don’t have any issues handling any firearm. Today I was on the pistol range and placed my target slightly lower (4”) than dead center on the plastic piece between the wooden frame. I did this for a good reason. The time prior to this a member shooting next to me came over and told me my bullets were impacting to close to the 4x8 plywood place above the dirt backstop. He instructed me to use a rest that was much higher so I could bring the bullets down to meet his approval. Okay. The 4x8 plywood is shot to hell and there wasn’t anything I was going to do to further damage it. So back to today, the range officer (Tim) came up to me and said that my target should be moved up (4”) to be more centered on the said plastic. There was no safety issue, no property damage issue, he just felt the need to enforce one of their many rules that have no purpose what so ever. I’m done with this place. I’ll take my business elsewhere and suggest you do the same.

I was a member here for about a year and I decided not to renew my membership. there are a lot of old grumpy men who shoot here and it seems like anybody who is younger or a new member is disrupting their good old boys club when I am here. I do not feel very welcome and I feel like I am shunned since I am younger shooter even though I am an Iraq veteran. At the rifle range you have to compete with the guys shooting muzzleloaders who seem to be annoyed at you if you shoot anything else. I basically went here only for the pistol range and that was it but after being here for one year I just decided not to renew my membership and just go shoot elsewhere. The club must be doing fine to allow this kind of behavior to continue from its members towards a younger crowd as well as new members so I guess they don't want my money after all. The staff treated me okay I have no complaints with them. When I would show up to shoot on the weekends it's ridiculous when somebody can put their gear on a lane and hold it for 30 minutes to an hour while the range is fully packed and you are waiting for someone to leave the range. I would get mad when i see people holding a lane while they are inside BSing as well as drinking coffee and all you want to do is shoot. I even made a complaint to the safety officer that was on that day as well but I'm pretty sure that did nothing to change the situation. Maybe one day in the future I will go back but now I just cannot justify spending money to go here to shoot around people who are grumpy and rude. This is a great facility with a lot of potential but until the old crusty guys change their ways I will not be going here.
