Beautiful, shady, easy trail. Be careful, there are many areas that are COVERED in poison ivy, with only a thin trail between paychrd.

LOVE this little hideaway place. This is where my husband first asked me out and our favorite spot to walk around. Last tuesday we came late and saw a lot of wildlife and had a great time walking around. Some of the spots are muddy but there are some great geocaches and wildlife spottings. Its quiet and peaceful and usually not busy. In the picture see if you can spot the raccoons (its a rough picture) but you can see their faces.

Great for a quick, easy hike to the river and back. Be careful of ticks though! We found over a dozen on ourselves and (mostly) our dogs. And additional ones once we got home. The fort trail was less muddy than the falls trail, and they both go to the falls locations anyways. The smaller crick was dry and not running (in March), most likely just during melting runoff or a heavy storm. Careful with small kids, the banks are steep and offer no barrier to the gully bottom. This is dog friendl. The preserve website is on Google maps locations service. Check that out for more answers and PDF copy of the map.

Tilly - We're not 100% sure! There are about 1.5 miles of trails today, but because they loop around, its somewhere closer to 2 miles if you want to hit them all. We're currently adding a new trail this fall, so we'll put up some numbers on the website once we finish building! https://www.geneseevalleyconservancy.org/indian-fort-nature-preserve
