Motel 6 South Bend, IN - Mishawaka

Was in town for Billy Joel concert, the motel was quite busy when we arrived. We were told our room would not be ready until 4 which was fine with us, apparently the cleaning staff had all quit a day prior. When we did get to our room the door was unlocked, as in I was able to just push the door open without a key. Our refrigerator did not work, and we did not have an ice bucket. Overall, we just needed a place to sleep after a long day and this worked out well. The staff was clearly stressed, but they remained composed and were very friendly. The only complaint we had was a dog barking uncontrollably in the middle of the night, which can't really be controlled. Maybe just keep people with pets all together, or as far away from other rooms as possible.

The room smelled clean, but there was still food from a past occupant on both the table and chair. There was hair in both the shower and tub when we walked into the room after it had been cleaned. No towels in the room, or soap. I heard that they had cleaning crew members quit, so I'm assuming that is why the rooms weren't as clean as they could have been. The people at the service desk were amazing. They stayed calm and friendly even though they were extremely busy checking people into their rooms.

This hotel is nothing special great for a one night stay beds are comfortable. The gentleman that has checked me and the front desk is absolutely wonderful very helpful great to work with. However the housekeeper that has now aggressively approached me on both of my stays now is less than a pleasant human to encounter. My special accommodation with a service dog should be the least of her worries. This last stay someone in the room near me smoked all night which filled my room with smoked .

IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!! The room was absolutely horrible. Stained towels, stained sheets, dirty floors, cups were used and gross, stained table and crumbs all over it. Blood on the walls. Toilet was broken. Owner doesn't care whatsoever! Really sad. If we could have stayed somewhere else, we would have. Unfortunately there wasn't anything available at all. Garth Brooks was in town!! Disgusting and gross!!
