Such a lovely visit, beautiful location with spectacular views of Mt. Hood. Apple cider donuts are delicious, and their apple cider slushy was perfect for the sunny day we were there. Kids play area was a whole lot of fun, as told by the happy squeals from my 3 year old. He didn't want to leave. ☺️ The piggy train ride was the most memorable thing for my little one. He'll be talking about that one for a long time! So much fun! All in all, great photo ops, nice selection of pumpkins and plants, fantastic attractions, yummy hot food to eat, Covid readiness and safety without being overbearing, and a diaper changing station, to boot! It had everything we needed and made for a memorable and happy day! 10/10 would recommend, especially to those with small children.

Edited October, 2021 Unfortunately, I need to update my review to reflect our recent experience (more like non-ecperience) at Bushue Farm. Once again, gathered the family and headed to Clackamas county to visit the Bushue Family Farm. Upon arrival, as we pulled into the parking area, my daughter said that there was a sign stating the visits were by appointment only (???!!!). I'm thinking that she couldn't possibly have read that right so I called and asked the lady on the other end of the line who verified that they were indeed taking visitors by appointment only "because of covid". This is stunning that in October 2021 with everything we've learned about the virus and most importantly the fact that it's entirely outdoors renders their executive decision to do this completely irrational and a gross overreaction based on what every one of us do and experience on a daily basis. Grocery shopping, work, etc. Upon a quick internet search I couldn't find any other farm that is doing this, of course. We drove for half an hour to be there just to turn around and go home! That's a complete waste of time and gas for nothing but frustration. I suppose if I had visited their website first, I could have avoided this altogether. But Google maps said the farm was open so shame on me for that, I guess... Won't happen again. Previous review, 2019: Bushue, who knew? What a wonderful farm! Took the family to the Boring area to see some of the pumpkin patches for a nice early October Saturday. Didn't want to go to Sauvie Island yet again since nothing ever really changes there other than higher prices to park and participate in the subpar attractions. We started at probably the the most prominent farm in Clackamas County and it seems they're now following in the footsteps of the farms at Sauvie Island since we spent $5 a head for the lowest level package that only included the parking and a "hayride*. After walking around for 5 minutes before realizing we'd seen everything there was to see and that the line for the hayride was going to set us back maybe a half hour, we decided to call it a day. Before completely calling it quits, I did a Google search for farms in the area and found an unfamiliar name, Bushue Family Farm. I said what the heck and off we went. Boy were we glad we did. First thing we noticed was how relatively clean and organized it was. There were plenty of workers around to guide parking and answer questions and avery one of them were pleasant and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. There were plenty of attractions for the kiddies and I'd say more than any of the other farms with maybe the only exception being Roloff Farms. But get this, Parking: free! Corn maze: free! Pumpkin Bowling: free! The other attractions like the hayride, pig train and a couple other of the play areas cost money. But at only $2 and $3 each it is so much more of a bargain than any other farm in the metro area, at least. Also, they had what the other local farm did not have: animals! Now don't expect to find exotic or even alot of typical farm livestock. They only had some goats and a delightful and friendly potbelly pig and nobody seemed disappointed. The entire experience was very good and this is now our go-to pumpkin patch for October! Great, great find!

Another great experience at Bushue’s. The new play area is perfect! I love that it’s gated and traps my crazy toddler in. My son loved the Pig Train. Pumpkin donuts and slushees are scrumptious. I would come back just for the slushees. The only improvement I would suggest is to have the price per pound on the main pumpkin patch labeled. I went the first day and maybe I just missed the sign.

The land and area is an open field but the ground is mainly gravel and ofcourse dirt & grass. The parking lot consists of gravel and rocks but is very close to the main entrance. I think the parking lot would be the only struggle but once you reach the entrance I think a wheelchair would ride smoothly. However, if it is raining the ground becomes very muddy and full of puddles. Last year my shoes were destroyed from the amount of mud and water we had to truck through & that included the territory outside of the pumpkin patch. There are covered area's with tables & delicious apple cider, i think coffee, & also soda pop. And a few varieties of snacks & really delicious hotdogs for reasonable prices! πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œ

Is Bushue's a real pumpkin patch or is it a field where pumpkins are placed (a pseudo pumpkin patch)?

Zach Echlin | Aug 18, 2019
Lara Bushue | Aug 18, 2019

We grow our own pumpkins! Pumpkins are brought in to the main farm from our field for easy, quick picking or you have the option to take a hayride to the actual pumpkin field where we grow them and you can pick a pumpkin right off the vine! There is a charge for the hayride, $3 per person 2 and older, which is why we bring pumpkins in for those who choose not to or cant take a hayride.
